    BPC, 902 wtq?

@Phil@BPC hey ran into this on your Flikr page. Don't remember it being posted.

902 lb-ft of torque at the wheels? Is this a 335d you guys built? What is this thing?

And it rev's to 4800-4900 rpm! That's fantastic for a diesel.

    Torque Monster - BPC builds a 903 lb-ft of wheel torque compound boost BMW E90 335d M57

We are not using the term torque monster lightly here. BPC (Bimmer Performance Center) has by far the strongest diesel BMW's in the United States. Just take a look at their Stage 1-4 tuning packages for the M57 diesel which can get you over 400 wheel horsepower and 600 wheel torque.

This is a whole new level though:

903 lb-ft of torque at the wheels! How? What in the world are they doing?

@Phil@BPC is keeping things quiet for now but we had to publish this dyno sheet as it's insane.

BimmerBoost will bring you more details on this beast as soon as we get them.

Damn that bottom end strength is amazing to handle that kind of torque hit.

I do need to make one correction for this thread, this build compound boosted using hybrid turbos not a single turbocharger.

My bad, I didn't have the exact specs so some guessing. Editing now.

But seems totally illegal on the street, not unlike some of those Cummins Ram smoke belchers I have seen down here. Usually raised about 3 ft. into the air, also. Makes cornering and braking hilarious, but lane changing down right frightening.

bottom end and...Transmission Click here to enlarge

wouldn't it be better to limit the torque to 700lb-ft and keep as smooth as possible from 2700 to 4300rpm?

I mean, why peak power at 3400rpm when your car is able to reach 5k?

Ill mention that the 335d does not have the 6hp26 transmission, I believe that is the stock transmission in the gasoline e90 335i.

the d has the 6hp26tu/6hp28 which can handle 553lbft stock. There are several companies that make stengthing kits to build these transmissions, also plenty of folks running around with over 600lbft on the stock tranny. Itís bacsically the same transmission as in the x5/6m. Which also has over 500lbft when tuned.

    The 335i has the 6hp19/21
    The 335D has the 6hp26/28

The point is 900lbft is way different than 500-600lbft and I have not heard of folks running around with 900lbft before, have you? if so please provide links so we can check it out.
