That didn't cross my mind but is essentially what I need to install them Click here to enlarge Maybe I'll swing by the auto parts store and rent one. I don't expect as much trouble with the delrin for the rear.

haha, greatness on that Trump pic.

That seals the deal - I'm definitely not upgrading/replacing my diff bushings lol. Maybe down the road I'll pay someone to do if needed.

No worries everyone, I'm still here and didn't abandon this platform. You can now sleep soundly Click here to enlarge

Been awhile since I posted an update. Work got nuts there for a bit and it was literally work, sleep, repeat. Mentally exhausted but time to get back to this money pit.

So wanted to start out by saying solid diff mounts are the devil. Purchased a ball joint press and it worked for the front two solid mounts. Ended up just buying one lol.

However, the subframe was too thick for the press so had to ghetto rig something up for the rear delrin mount. Don't feel like explaining how I did it or why I used what I used. Let me know if you have any questions and I'd be glad to explain more.

Got the diff back up and axles bolted back together. No more one wheel peels!

New clutch and flywheel put in (no pics, sorry) and the mansmission back in. If I have to replace the clutch in the future, since I have a lift, I will be dropping the engine and subframe. Those bellhousing bolts are a pain in the ass.

SSK with billet shift rod and teflon bushings (links below) installed. No pics, sorry. There still is a decent amount of slop in the linkage but it appears to be from the OEM joint at the trans itself, idk. I'll look into it at some point.

Spent this weekend tackling weight reduction and prepping for something special next month Click here to enlarge. Still need to remove the HVAC system (will be deleted) and other non-essential engine bay components. Car will be completely gutted with a custom dash. Target race weight is under 2700 lb, we shall see. This project has made the turn into a dedicated drag car....whoops. More details to come later.

P.S. - Anyone need an interior?! Mines for sale lol.

P.P.S. - I must be an idiot because I can't get the pics to load in the correct orientation....

Did some more work this past weekend. Removed the HVAC system, windshield wiper motors, wiring harness and all the damn Christmas tree clips, and sunroof. Installed the Sparco steering wheel and Rennline quick release. Got the carbon fiber sunroof delete and AC compressor delete kit in the mail the other day. Sending the AC compressor delete kit back though since I'm deleting the power steering as well so I ordered a different belt.

The shop that will be doing the NHRA certified 10 point cage in March is going to strip the wiring harness down to the bare essentials. They'll be doing a few other cool fabrication things while the car is there since I don't have the knowledge or experience. A proper IRS drag suspension setup is also in the works Click here to enlarge

    Slow progress, but progress.

Installed the PSP 900 intercooler. The J-pipe supplied doesn't appear to work with the VRSF chargepipe or doc race single turbo kit. So I'll have to get something custom made I guess.

Found a killer deal on a 28' enclosed trailer local to me. Dealer has been sitting on it for awhile as trailers like these don't sell quickly in my area. 5200# dexter axles, cabinets, electric jack, 7.5' ceiling, wired for A/C, finished interior, 50 amp panel, etc.

Taking the car to the shop tomorrow morning to get the 10 point cage installed along with a few other things.

Thanks, I really like it so far. I have a F350 powerstroke. Installed a weight distribution hitch and anti-sway and it pulls like a champ.

Dropped the car off at the shop yesterday. It will be there for a month getting a few things done. Below is Phase 1 of the build. The goal for this year is to get a solid foundation to work off of for next year. Get the car running and make a few passes down the strip and tackle a few other things this year like the suspension.

    • 10 point NHRA approved cage
    • Custom aluminum dash using a tablet running MHD as the gauge cluster instead of the OEM
    • Aluminum control panel for various switches
    • Front fender work to fit Hoosier 27.5" x 4.5" tires
    • Hood exhaust Click here to enlarge
    • Custom chargepipe with Turbosmart BOV since AC and power steering is deleted
    • Custom cold side intercooler pipe
    • Custom hot side intercooler pipe
    • Walnut blast
    • Oil cooler delete
    • Install AeroCatch hood pins
    • Install hydrobrake
    • Install parachute handle and cable
    • Install window net
    • Install fire extinguisher

If anyone follows the other forum or daft335 on Instagram, then you know this car time attack car that's on the lift. If not, definitely look him up. I chose this shop because of the quality of work put into this car, and after seeing it in person, regret nothing.

So went to the shop today to get fitted for the cage and figure out placement of the hydro-brake, parachute handle, steering column, seat, and gauge cluster. Must say, much better than getting fitted for a tux! Super excited for this build. Shop will start Tuesday with the cage so more pictures to come! Only got one pic for now....too caught up in chatting and planning next steps to remember to take more pics until I finished the 3 hour drive back home Click here to enlarge

Note....the VAC seat brackets don't work with Series 55 Kirkey seats. They interfere with the harness opening on the sides (area with black trim) so purchased specific Kirkey brackets as seen below. We bought both driver and passenger VAC seat floor mounts (they are slightly different) and using one piece from each kit for the drivers seat if that makes sense. By doing this it allows the driver seat to be shifted towards the trans tunnel more in order to make more room for the door bars. It's barely even noticeable.

    This is so damn nice...

Maybe it's time to stop pouring money into the cars and get a nice tow rig and trailer. Your setup is so sick!
