    • Big Boost offers Stage 1-3 BMW B48 turbo kits - Stage 2 F36 430i Gran Coupe dynos 331 whp

The B48 2.0 liter four-cylinder motor obviously is not the largest or most powerful turbo motor in the BMW lineup but it is relatively light while offering good tuning value. Big Boost USA was able to get a very nice increase out of the engine with their Stage 2 turbo upgrade.

What is done to this 430i? This:

      BBT Stage 2 4949 turbo
      Remus rear muffler
      BBT non resonated mid-pipe
      BBT cat-less downpipe
      JB4 Map 2

The result is a gain of 78 horsepower at the wheels:

Now before you go on saying the graph is choppy look at the bottom and see that it is provided with speed instead of rpm. The dips you see are shifts.

Yes, we would prefer a graph with RPM from a single gear along with the torque curve but as more of these kits get out there we will have more dyno results to go on.

The bottom line is that this Big Boost Stage 2 B48 is putting out more power than a stock N54 or N55 and considerably more than the stock B48 at 253 wheel horsepower. Big Boost says the Stage 2 setup is capable of 370+ whp for those who want to push further.

A very nice value upgrade at $2449.00. Now what will the Stage 3 with 5149 turbo do?

It's not the best sounding Bimmer but it sounds good. However I don't like the cold start sound at all.
