    • Big Boost Turbo sets B58 horsepower record with their BMW F22 M240i and Stage 3 turbo kit - 534 wheel horsepower

This is absolutely incredible. Not only because the numbers are strong but because there is no supplemental methanol injection involved or port fuel injection for that matter. This B58 motor is still on the factory fuel system.

That makes the 534 wheel horsepower and 501 lb-ft of torque at the wheels all the more impressive:

Big Boost Turbo hits these figures with their Stage 3 B58 turbo upgrade, BMS intake, a catless downpipe, and a JB4:

We believe we have set a new world record for the B58!
534WHP and 501 FT-LB of torque! Stage 3.2 (5959mm turbo), no PI nor Meth.

Thanks @Terry@BMS and all team at BMS for all the support!
BMS previously stated the B58 has a fueling cap around 400 whp so how they are comfortably exceeding that number is anyone's guess.

The B58's tuning future sure is looking bright though.

How are you fueling this if not with PI or methanol?

I don't know how we were able to achieve that, but as you can see the trims are really high. This was 98 octane fuel. We will install the Meth kit next week along with the EWG wires and post some results.
We will also test the PI 1 month from now.

Terry said fuel was capped at 400 whp. I don't get it but this is awesome.

What is the car and the trans?

That's why I said we didn't thought it was going to make this much HP.
        M240i with ZF8 (8 speed auto)

We found the fueling limit at 19 PSI, when it started misfiring and AFRs of about 15s.

The record run was at 18 PSI with a 23 psi peak, which the car controlled and prevented a misfire.

It is also important to take into account that is not only fuel what makes power.
In all engines how well they breath is also a clue factor in power. The magic of our setup is there is no back-pressure, this because our manifold has 25% bigger runners than the stock one, also the turbine housing has a much bigger A/R, which helps the engine flow much better and have a cleaner combustion cycle.

Looks like quite a bit of lag for the numbers it made. Might need race fuel from the torque curve it looks like the turbos are pretty big

One turbo but I mean there is definitely more in that turbocharger.

Anything that makes "it breath better" will also require more fuel...

If you do not have back-pressure you will not have a contaminated combustion chamber, this means you will make more horsepower with the same amount of fuel.

"We made 438whp on the stock fuel system without meth, using E85, with a lean AFR. Posted the result 12/15/15... ~18 months ago. If we had used race gas instead of E85 and a larger turbo I'm sure we could hit 500whp+ on a dynojet...

Just because you can do for a few runs on a dyno doesn't mean it's safe or that we'd ever suggest customers do it. And doesn't mean the car is going to work properly during a race.

Look at the result as promosing for the turbo. It has nothing to do with the B58 fueling and tuning limitations that are remain the main obstacle in holding back B58 performance."

        Guys,

We strapped the car in the dyno again. Last time we used Pump Gas mixed with Sunoco 260 GT Plus, today we used straight Sunoco 260 GT Plus. This change made significant improvements on torque and power. New WR: 563 RWHP
