    • N55 breaks into the 11's on factory turbo with full E85 MHD/PureBoost tuning and Spool Performance FX-150 upgraded HPFP

It seems you can teach an old dog new tricks. The N55 is well known for having the weakest factory turbo and torque curve of all modern turbocharged and direct injected BMW I6 powerplants. The factory curve is comically bad.

The N55 never impressed on the factory turbo but E85 can do wonders and thanks to the Spool Performance FX-150 HPFP (High Pressure Fuel Pump) and E85 specific tuning for it this F30 335i impresses:

That is an 11.981 @ 116.17 at the Fontana dragstrip in California. That means an honest 11-second pass and the first to date for an N55 on the factory turbocharger.

      STOCK TURBO
      Full interior

      Set up-
      VRSF Downpipe, chargepipe, and intercooler
      BMS intake
      Spoolfx150 beta pump for E85
MHD tune by pureboost (tune not yet finished)
265 Federal Rs pro rear tires
The owner states he previously ran 12.7 @ 110 on the same strip before the full E85 tuning and HPFP.

Damn, that just now happened? LOL I didn’t realize they were that limited. Should easily knock off a couple more tenths once that 60’ time comes down into the 1.7x range.

I also did not realize stock turbo n55 were this slow, I know n54 has done an 11.0x, could even have done a 10.99 by now?

Proper tyres would help a lot, the federals aren't meant for straight line/from a dig in the slightest.

        PWG and EWG?

I know i've seen race gas mix stock turbo EWG cars trap 116 - 5-6 years ago.

Makes me think this car is on the smaller PWG turbo.

        The F30's aren't all EWG?

Nop, usually up to 2013 PWG, 2014 and up EWG... the cut is somewhere in 2014, either mid or late 2014.
