    • Evolution Racewerks produces first set of BMW S58 catless downpipes - F98 X4M exhaust sound clip

You likely noticed the BMW S58 motor is making monster aftermarket power but thus far only with software changes. Well, Evolution Racewerks produced the first set of S58 catless downpipes which help uncork the exhaust by aiding spool, adding power, and providing an aggressive tone.

You can take a look at the downpipes below. Pricing is not set just yet but dynos with the pipes are expected to come soon.

For now, enjoy the pictures and the sound clip of the exhaust tone. The S58 sounds much, much better than the S55 and quite aggressive with the catless downpipes.

Its no wonder the S58 sounds better than the S55 off the bat, the difference in downpipe lengths combined with an opposite route of the front/rear banks (drivers side being longer to offset the slightly shorter rear bank downpipes) pretty much closes the 14" difference in pipe length between the driver/passenger on the S55 at the crossover pipe.

BMW finally did the right thing, its too bad on the S55 that it takes some off-the-wall thinking to combat the differences between the driver/passenger sides before the cross over.

About time an aftermarket down pipe manufacturer started incorporating flex joints into their downpipes.

This stops a lot of NVH in to the car/cabin.
