    • The S58 is an underrated monster - Stock 2020 F97 X3M Competition shows 550+ horsepower and 100-200 kph in 10.57

This is not shocking news as several months ago BimmerBoost reported the S58 motor in the F97 X3M and F98 X4M is extremely underrated. It is nice to see confirmation from other sources and European dynamometers for those out there skeptical of Dynojet figures.

These numbers come from PureBoost.de and their MAHA dyno is showing over 550 horsepower stock:

Compared to a Dynojet the MAHA is extremely conservative but if the MAHA is showing over 550 crank horsepower you can bet the motor is severely underrated. BimmerBoost continues to say this is a ~600 horsepower motor in stock form based on Dynojet results and traditional drivetrain loss figures as well as that the G80 M3 will be a straightline beast.

They also tested a stock 100-200 kph time at 10.57 seconds:

For an SUV and one that is supposed to be rated at 503 horsepower that is a great time. For perspective, a Lamborghini Urus does 100-200 kph in 9.08 seconds meaning the X3M only needs a tune to match or exceed it. That is some serious bang for your buck.

This is sweet. When shopping our next SUV I think it will have to be an X3M over the Macan Turbo...

Drive a Macan first. Won't have the raw muscle but I guarantee it will be much more fun to drive and plenty quick.

I have driven an S, GTS, and Turbo. The GTS and Turbo were definitely fun and handled very well for an SUV but I would personally take more power over better handling in an SUV.

For a sports car, handling all day... but an SUV is no matter what a compromise in handling because the center of gravity size and weight.
Plus the Macan just doesn't have enough cargo room for an SUV.
I really wanted to love it but just didn't.

If you could only have 1 car the Macan would be a good one.
