
When people start to bore/sleeve and go to different rings and coatings that is when they tend to get into trouble by complicating things and straying too far from the factory design. These Mahle pistons work.
Maximum PSI heavy duty forged piston set for S55 engines. Made by Mahle to our specifications. HD pins, Grafal coated skirts. Set up to drop in to the factory LDS bore. Rings are file fit.

The rods are by Manley and apply to the S55 or N55 but you will not be able to use them with the factory pistons so it makes sense to do both the aftermarket pistons and rods at the same time.
We teamed up with Manley Performance to create a heavy duty connecting rod set for the S55 and N55 BMW inline six cylinder engines. The factory components are quite capable, however we try to limit torque to around 600 ft/lbs on stock S55 engines. You can see the end result of pushing a factory connecting rod beyond those levels in the photo gallery. These rods are not compatible with OEM pistons. They are machined for aftermarket pistons with a non-tapered wrist pin/small end.


Add a good S55 crank hub solution and your motor will be able to take a pounding.
