    • VF-ENGINEERING STAGE 1 B58 HEX TUNING 91 OCTANE DYNOJET RESULTS - +65-75 WHEEL HORSEPOWER

      You may recall that VF-Engineering released some preliminary numbers for their B58 tune from their in-house Mustang dynamometer. Well, they also have an in-house Dynojet which obviously serves a purpose for marketing.


      Check out their Stage 1 Hex Tuning before and after results on 91 octane pump gas:


      The torque gain is almost 100 lb-ft at the wheels which is just huge. Horsepower goes up by 67 at the wheels. You see gains through the entire curve.

      The curve is very similar to their Mustang curve but the peak numbers are higher by virtue of this being a Dynojet. Most people just judge a tune by the peak gains which is unfortunate.

      What is clear here though is VF-Engineering spent time developing their tune on the load bearing Mustang dyno, with road testing, and the inertia based Dynojet which is great for dialing a tune in under various conditions.


      Here are some official DynoJet results for our HEX Tuning - Stage ONE.

      Based on the average results from the last few cars we've had in-house
      for development/testing/validation, we are looking at advertised gains of;
      +65 - 75 Wheel Horsepower
      +85-105 Wheel Torque

      (on CA 91 Octane)

      As you can see, and as we've discussed in previous threads, the delta gains
      are VERY similar between the Mustang and DynoJet even though the
      peak values for the DynoJet are noticeably higher.

      Mustang - Delta Gains: 69 whp / 87 wtq
      DynoJet - Delta Gains: 67 whp / 99 wtq

      (both of which fall right in between our advertised gains!)

      Mustang - Peak Power: 365whp / 413wtq
      DynoJet - Peak Power: 373whp / 433wtq

      (which is the reason why the Mustang is known as the "heart breaker")

      The slightly lower torque gains on the Mustang can be directly attributed
      to the higher amount of load, running in "linked, 4-wheel-drive mode".


      Of course most people would prefer to boast about having the higher
      peak wheel HP numbers from the DynoJet, than the more modest
      peak figures from the Mustang; but as demonstrated above, the
      product itself is only responsible for delivering the advertised gains and
      not the peak values produced by the machine.

      In either case these are very impressive gains for the B58.

      Most importantly, it does not infringe on the limitations of the high
      pressure fuel pump when using unleaded based fuels.

      And in typical HEX Tuning fashion, we can guarantee the results of our
      advertised gains (within reasonable margins for conditional variables)
      regardless of which machine it's tested on, with no excuses!

        Same here. Definitely prefer Mustang results these days but hate those operators who give their own correction factor which muddies the waters.
