    • Sport Auto BMW F90 M5 Competition Hockenheim GP lap test - 1:53.30

Now a 1:53.30 is a very good time for a heavy sedan but if you watch the video, the F90 M5 Competition is not exactly graceful. It looks like quite a handful actually to hustle around the Hockenheim GP course.

Also interesting is that the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4Matic Coupe is quicker by half a second despite carrying 300 more pounds. A heavier AMG Mercedes beating a lighter and more powerful BMW on the track? What is going on?

      57. Honda NSX (Mk II) unknown 1:55.30 581 / 1766
      58. Corvette Grand Sport Uwe Sener 1:55.30 466 / 1583
      59. Mercedes-Benz AMG GT S Uwe Sener 1:55.40 522 / 1617

The M5 just uses its power to its advantage here. On a tighter course it would certainly begin to show its heft and understeer.
