    • Fat Pig - BMW claims a curb weight of 3968 pounds for the 2020 G20 M340i xDrive

Is this a 3-Series or 5-Series? How in the world is a 340i brushing up against 4000 pounds? Maybe BMW made a mistake on their site but 3968 pounds is the quoted weight. Keep in mind the the G20 330i xDrive was weighed at 3709 pounds.

This is bad news for the G80 M3:

The balance obviously is not 50/50 either with 52.6% on the nose.

How does the RWD M340i compre? Surprisingly not much better:

How is the RWD version only 119 pounds lighter? The weight balance is better but still not 50/50.

From the looks of things we will be lucky if the G80 M3 comes in at 38XX.

This car will be fast by virtue of brute strength but I mean 3968 pounds is a joke.

The G80 M3 Pure has a shot here to weigh 400 pounds less if BMW takes it seriously.

MB/AMG went the same way. The lightweight car world is over. Natural selection is over. Everyone needs to be overly protected and coddled. So both cars and people get ever more fat and stupid.

        McLaren and the Viper disagree.

        Plus this car isn't DCT.

sorry i should have clarified, i meant in general. Most of these manufactures don't care about weight anymore, the fact that we have so many awd performance cars with turbos and launch control that can deliver the numbers customers want with ease, but the driving experience is no where near the same.

Wow. So not any better than the rs5.
As previously mentioned, the real question is how much can they possibly remove for the g80 platform?

If the M3 is 39XX might as well get a used M5 and at least have a V8.

Let's hope they get the weight way down for the Pure edition.
