    • Want to LS V8 swap your E46? Brintech Customs E46 LS1, LS2, or LS3 engine mount kit

The Aussies over at Brintech Customs are the people you want to talk if interested in an LS swap for your BMW. Not only the LS V8, they do all kinds of interesting swaps. How about an S85 V10 into an E46? Or an S65 V8 with DCT into a BMW 1M? Or an E30 with an LSX?

These guys have some very interesting projects.

For those who want a kit to make things easier and to it yourself, Brintech Customs is now producing their LS1, LS2, or LS3 engine mount for the E46.

      750.00

BMW E46 LSx Engine Mounting Kit. This kit allows any LS engine to be bolted straight onto the factory E46 crossmember.

With poly bushes and all fasteners required to get your engine mounted.

Getting the engine mounted is one thing and obviously it takes more than the mount to complete the swap but Brintech can help you out with the rest of the process.

      LS E46? Yay or nay?

The purist may not like it, but the fact is the E46 has gotten very, very cheap which is usually correlated with new owners who may skip the routine maintenance items here and there. This is a great option if you can find a clean car that may need some mechanical love.

I'm not a purist so I'll also go ahead and add it is lighter, more reliable, and makes more power than the iron-block 6 it will replace Click here to enlarge

I kind of like it but not for an E46 M3 S54 swap.

        330 or 325, sure.

They should do this for E39's as well.

100% agree, definitely feasible for anything other than the s54. I still struggle to find many LS's at my mileage, power, and abuse levels that are still on the original unopened (other than rod bearings Click here to enlarge) power train.
