    • Maximum PSI decides to take the overall BMW M3 power record back - Twin turbo E46 S54 dynos 1174 rwhp

Well, it seems the S55 power war is spilling onto other BMW platforms. Maximum PSI decided to get in the mix with their E46 M3 shop car and show the world the nearly two decade old S54 3.2 I6 still reigns supreme. The 8k+ rpm 3.2 liter iron block I6 is simply tough to beat even for modern BMW turbo motors.

No direct injection, Valvetronic, or dual clutch nonsense here. Just old school BMW M engine efficiency:

The 1174 rear wheel horsepower of course tops the Kratos F80 M3 which just put down 1163 rear wheel horsepower.

Power is exploding across the BMW landscape and it is great to see.

Unless there is some other M3 out there with more power (and considering some of the Scandinavian turbo builds, there may be) Maximum PSI holds the overall BMW M3 power record.

      For now.

Better watch out making these kinds of claims...

Motiv has made claims online that they "turn their N54 down to 1100WHP" Click here to enlargeClick here to enlargeClick here to enlargeClick here to enlargeClick here to enlarge

Makes me think about buying E46 M3 over 135i N54 HAHA. Plus AEM Standalone for E46 is available at reasonable prices

If accurate that's far more efficient than any modern direct injected BMW I6...
