    • World's most powerful BMW F80 M3 - RK-Tunes hits 1087 rwhp with single turbo S55 conversion

Ladies and gentlemen, introducing the new overall S55 power record and the world's most powerful F80 M3. RK-Tunes previously topped 1000 rear wheel horsepower (being the first to do so) last year but criticism ensued due to the number coming from a Dynocom.

Well, here is the new record on the Maximum PSI Dynojet:

The mod list for those that did not memorize it:

Motor Assembled in house by RK-Tunes
      Pauter rods
      ARP head studs
      Wiseco Maximum PSI Spec Pistons
      Maximum PSI Keyed Crank Hub
Custom Top Mount manifold by Ricky at 88 Lab
      Dodson Clutches
      DSS Driveshaft and Axles
      Treadstone 4.5" Intercooler
      Southbay 1200cc port injectors
      Custom fuel system
      Chinese Intake Manifold
      TPG modified rear brake calipers
17" wheels with drag radials or slicks
BC Racing 2-way shocks and custom suspension

We are well into the quadruple digit era of S55 power gentlemen.

RK-Tunes is running into valve float issues (no surprise there, BimmerBoost stated this would happen) and they will push further once this is resolved:

1087whp /902wtq. The new BMW S55 /F8x record. On a dynojet this time for the internet cry babies.

Thanks for the dyno and upgrades @maximumpsi . After we fix the valve float we will be turning it up more. No piggy backs here.
      Congrats to all involved.

        Very, very impressive.

Technically it is running a piggy IIRC, for the secondary pump and injectors, and I think new map senor as well.

I knew this was coming sooner or later. Not surprised it is from a Jersey member.

1087whp /902wtq. That is so impressive. Must take some serious boost.

So what's next? Heavier valve springs, lighter retainers and locks.
Any port work? More tuning? More boost?

What are your charge intake air temps like at full boost at peak numbers?

        I have a N54 and N55 exhaust cam. Now I need a S55 exhaust cam.

Good stuff, curious to see how this build progresses

Amazing the platform does not have aftermarket cams yet. That should really help.

The geometry of the intake valvetronic mechanism won't allow for a modified/aftermarket camshaft to work.

An exhaust cam with an additional +1mm valve lift and 2-3* additional duration sure couldn't hurt.

Well that is a shame but one cam upgraded it better than none I assume. Still basically 1100whp from a 3 liter is impressive. I know other platforms make more with less.

MILVs will take care of the intake adding +1mm additional lift to the intake valve.
I am working on an exhaust cam regrind also adding +1mm lift to the exhaust valve.

I can see how increased lift on the intake cam may not possible be because of the Valvetronic, but why wouldnt you be able to increase duration?

But you can increase the valve lift +1mm and duration +2-3*, just not with a different cam.

What tuning changes are necessary to take advantage of the MILV’s?

I am not a tuner but from what I hear, there needs to be changes to the intake valve lift table.

This is stock valve lift vs. eccentric cam position

I believe this table needs to be modified.
