No, that picture is not photoshopped. That PorscheBoost Porsche Performance Forums members @Markblackwell popping a wheelie at the Famoso dragstrip. His car is built featuring a ByDesign XR Porsche 991 turbo kit. This car just keeps getting faster and 0-60 in 1.98 seconds shows you just how hard this thing is launching out of the hole. Wow: How about 60-130 in 3.58 seconds as well? All this on the way to 8.779 @ 164.53 in the 1/4 mile at the Famoso dragstrip: Seeing the front end come up the way it does is just astonishing. Much respect to ByDesign and @Markblackwell on the results.

This sure is interesting as RK Autowerks states the turbo upgrade will apply to either N63 or S63 based 4.4 liter BMW engines. Considering the Garett G25-660 turbos can support north of 1000 horsepower, that opens up a lot of BMW models to some serious aftermarket power. RK Autowerks states they will have a G30-900 version as well but here are the G25-660 specs: Horsepower: 350 - 660 Displacement: 1.4L - 3.0L G SERIES COMPRESSOR AERODYNAMICS FOR MAXIMUM HP G SERIES TURBINE WHEEL AERO WITH IMPROVED EFFICIENCY 54mm TURBOCHARGER COMPRESSOR OPTION STANDARD AND REVERSE ROTATION CONFIGURATIONS TURBINE WHEEL CONSTRUCTED OF MAR-M ALLOY RATED UP TO 1050°C STAINLESS STEEL TURBINE HOUSING OPTIONS RATED UP TO 1050°C FULLY MACHINED SPEED SENSOR AND PRESSURE PORTS OIL RESTRICTOR AND WATER FITTINGS INCLUDED Yep, a pair of these should make some big numbers but you will need a built motor and upgraded fuel system to take advantage of them. Is the N63 suddenly set to become a BMW powerhouse and tuning value? We will see. Pricing is expected to be between $7-9k.

Well BPCMotorsports is dead or at least their tuning division seems to be. You would have to go to someone else and yes you can OBD unlock now.

Wait, this is the older supercharged one? I don't think he has done that but he still could if anyone can.

Mercedes-AMG did a great job entering a sector dominated by the 911 and providing a real alternative. The AMG GT is not a Porsche 911 wannabe but a car designed in AMG's own vision. The formula is excellent for a sports car or GT and can be more of one than the other depending on the trim you select. The base trim offers plenty of punch. You still get the M178 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 with the exact same turbochargers as the GT S model. You get the same dry sump system. For $116,895.00 what you get is value in this segment. Name another rear wheel drive twin turbo V8 sports car with a dual clutch transmission weighing less than 3700 pounds (as weighed by Car and Driver) that you can buy for under $120k? One does not exist. You would next have to head to Ferrari and McLaren to fulfill that request for a lot more money. A Porsche Carrera is likely the closest competitor and the acceleration between the two is essentially a wash with the AMG GT likely having a bit more top end punch. A tune really uncorks the base GT though. If you want more out of the box the AMG GT R exists for the hardcore. It comes with a premium price tag but if being a track junky is what you want AMG has you covered. Where BenzBoost finds appeal is the tuning value of the AMG GT. The only missing is the wide hips from the higher trim models which cuts the GT's rear end down by 2.3 inches on each side. This does affect the looks quite a bit. You almost get everything in the base car for an aggressive price with plenty of tuning headroom. What's not to like?

Have you done away with the AT heat exchanger from the radiator? Ditched mine ages ago and that helps oil and trans temps too.

Which is quicker, the Ferrari 488 Pista or the McLaren 720S? Well, it depends who you read or watch. Some results have the Ferrari on top and some results have the 488 Pista on top. Assuming there is no Ferrari trickery going on, it likely comes down to the driver, course, and conditions. Tires alone could change the result: McLaren Senna: 1.40,8 min Manthey-Porsche GT2 RS MR: 1.43,5 min McLaren 720S: 1.45,5 min Ferrari 488 Pista: 1.45,9 min a-workx-Porsche 911 GT3 RS: 1.46,0 min Lamborghini Aventador SVJ: 1.47,3 min Mercedes-AMG GT R Pro: 1.48,0 min McLaren 600 LT: 1.48,9 min Lamborghini Huracán Evo: 1.49.0 min Porsche 911 Turbo S (991.2): 1.50,0 min They are both stunningly fast and incredible automobiles. McLaren has a new model coming though that should put them far out of reach.
