My baby Has lost some weight.. (wheel paint DIY and actual K1 Vs VMR wheel weight)

First sunny day in a while, decided to take off the old wheels and put on real summers.

So, I bought 2 17" K1's from Tire rack, with the lightest wheels i could find, turns out to be hankooks v12's again.

    how to paint
step one, buy flat black paint
    step 2 spray onto wheels
and your done Click here to enlarge

then i decided I wanted some MT ET streets for the rears, so i sold my K1 w/BFG to a guy, and bought "TheMysts" K1's with MT ET's

I tried cleaning them up first, but they were pretty beat up. No worries, its getting painted anyway:

Once paint was done, time to weigh them. ( please ignore the dirt surrounding our doorway, i tracked a lot of crud in when i brought my military gear in late lastnight)

and the moment you have all been waiting for..

I think they look pretty aggressive like that. I like that they are black for the "streetfighter" look, i like if paint chips, i can pay $2.00 for a new can and fix on the spot Click here to enlarge and i like that i shaved some pounds with them- 34 lbs total rotational.

I also now have some super sticky tires for the upcoming mexico runs we all are so eager to see Click here to enlarge

so, what do you guys think?

Awesome, I've been looking for a good step-by-step DIY for repainting wheels. This should do perfectly. I just have two questions: Did you have to shake the can? And are you supposed to do that before or after you spray?

After driving very briefly on them, my initial review is amazing.
Im not sure how many of you have swapped for lighter wheel, but its immediately noticable the difference in weight. The car just rolls effortlessly from a stop. I never noticed the throttle needed with heavier wheels, but i easily notice the lack of needed throttle to have these just start going. the whole car feel much lighter than just 35 lbs.
The closest way I can describe it, is after I have been carrying 3-4 bags of military gear in the car and the decide to finally take it out, and drive around some more.
I mean, i cant truely describe the difference, but the car just feels so nimble now, and that was only maybe a few blocks of traveing with these on.
