IND Distribution presents the first Akrapovic X5M/X6M exhaust systems in the US!

After a long wait, we are proud to announce that Akrapovic's first inbound batch of X5M and X6M exhaust systems! We were so excited about the new exhaust that we purchased every available system on the first inbound shipment. Seeing the exhaust first hand was an experience we've now come to expect from Akrapovic and left all of us very impressed. The intricate carbon fiber tips, carefully spaced to allow for cool operation and longevity, the beautifully CNC bent and laser cut brackets, the phenomenal welds, everything about this exhaust was typical Akrapovic artwork. The X5M and X6M exhaust system features bolt on fitment to the factory downpipes, which also means that the car will operate with no check engine lights or catalytic converter errors. This system also functions with the factory valve system for discreet cruising and an aggressive tone when the valves are open. The four titanium tips are an absolute work of art, and the exhaust also frees 10hp from the already incredible truck, in addition to saving over 50lbs of weight! Please contact an IND representative for additional information.

Just heard a video of this exhaust. As good as your going to get the X6M to sound.

Kind of depressing if this is what to come for the M5 exhaust note.

Long live the exotic sound of the E60 V10. The new M5 is going to sound like weaksauce.

Well we'll soon have a decent comparo N63 vs S63 exhaust note as IND shipped my eisenmann race to AR Wednesday and they will install it soon. Couple this with their catless DP's and it will be MEAN although I wonder if too loud. Oh well it's all good in the quest for maximum flow I guess.

Sounds nice. Any idea why they decided to keep the valves/flaps on two of the pipes like the oem exhaust?

^ Sounds plenty aggressive to me, don't know what people are talking about with the S63 not being loud. Obviously with turbos it won't have the same tone as an S65 or S85.

Bump. Nate - can you answer this, or find out the answer from the manufacturer?

Only one of the exhaust tips is ever functional at any given time.

With the valve closed, exhaust gasses follow the path I illustrated using the red arrow and pass through the muffler canister. This way volume is controlled for reasonable sound while cruising.

Once the valve is open, the exhaust path will follow the part I illustrated with the green arrow, and pass directly out of the outside exhaust tip, without passing through the muffler at all. This gives an aggressive sound at all RPMs!
