First thing I would do is get a lawyer and an accountant to figure our my options and how to keep myself as anonymous as possible. Set up a trust or a corporation and have the lawyer claim the ticket on behalf of it. Next I would decide on whether to take lump sum or payments and work with a firm that does wealth management to get the money squared away. Then I would probably go travel for a while and I'm sure I would buy a couple of cars. Say I won $20 mil after tax like those people in New York did, I would probably buy a house in the $1 million range. Pay in cash or finance would depend on what the financial adviser said. I would just try to get things set up so I'd never have to work again while continuing to grow the money.

I dono what i would do with it...half of what everyone here has the same idea.

My dad won 10k yesterday...already booking a cruise with it...i doubt ill see a penny of it lol...

I could have done so much with that..paid off the rest of my debt and SnapOn..and used the rest to invest and use it to make me money.

Sounds about right. Also I would like a cabin in Aspen or Switzerland.

My dad taught me a similar motto, "Think hard, don't work hard. Money will come."

I'd also buy a colt-a-sac and move my close family/friends there to live right next door. Click here to enlarge

This is how you don't want to be when winning the lottery: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael...tery_winner%29

He won ~$15million , spent the lot on drugs, gambling & prostitutes .. now he's back on benefits again.

Ok.. the ultimate personal car, the ultimate grocery getters in each port (M's of some sort), docking in those ports, which would be SF, Amsterdam, Ibiza and Mal Pais, respectively. Boat have to stay in the garage there, they love their coastline. So do i. That's chillout central, the place where one day is just like the next and the peeps are sweet and Waves are so consistently perfect you can actually choose when you surf.

And maybe some bugout land in Canada where i can cut loose on that RZ500 i've aways wanted if it all comes crashing down.. hey Bigup you don't like the cold maybe i trade you my condo in florida for your place up there oneday!

You guys all want garages, i just want a personal mechanic to tour with me.. specially if i owned something Itralian, heh..

there is a whole list of things but one would be to open a my own car shop and hire the best in the business. Because im so sick of seeing all the bs that goes on in this business. As well as start a website/magazine that would test aftermarket parts, for example buy every exhaust made for a car and have them all dyno tested and post results, same with intakes, headers etc..the idea would to become big enough that the aftermarket companies would have to send you their product because if they didnt they would be left out and look bad.

these are 2 wishes of mine. I always ponder a way to make the magazine/site happen. It would just cost so much to get started, would need your own dyno pretty much. But would be awesome to have a 3rd party dyno of everything..the site would become so big, would be like dragtimes but for aftermarket parts and their gains.

Wow Bigup you've done your homework!

The coast of Uruguay has some best-kept-secret type places too i hear, a friend of mine's looking to move there. You have that Pura Vida like in Costa Rica, cheap coastal living (not that our virtual set-for-life types need to swat that) but with jet-set action nearby. You know where i'm talking about Big?

Can't say I'm all too familiar with the South American thing .. but if it's hot, has beaches, serves good beer .. I'm in Click here to enlarge

I mentioned Cyprus .. because I lived there for a while .. and although I was not born there, I consider it my spiritual home! If you like to party, love seriously hot weather, chilled out locals, and want to swim in the beautiful non-polluted ocean all year round, that's the place to be!

    I'm accepting large investments.

This is eventually in the pipeline, just have to get big enough to make it happen. This place hopefully will serve as the place for independent results for enthusiasts.

Sticky: FWIW, as someone who ht the boards not necessarily to socialise (though i'm liking this group alot) but to gain some easily-accessible, quick-and-dirty info on FI for my e36, this board, after a few weeks of lurking, gave me enough background on both the topic and the available options to feel confident in my conclusions, regardless of how i proceed in the future.

I visit the other forums too, but since considering FI, i keep coming back to this one.

So good luck on those investors Sticky, i'd love to see this site come into its own.

I appreciate it, thank you. We are progressing quite well and if things continue at the current rate we should blossom so to speak pretty soon.
