He said and i quote " How can you make more power by adding fuel?! AA is alright, some of the product they make are nice, the rest are simply over prices cr*p. But they aren't who they used to be and I'm not the only one who thinks that way. I normally don't down talk anyone, but they've screwed a few people I know over and I didn't like that. Its not how such a well known company should operate, nor would it be the way I would operate my shop.

That is the knowledge level you will deal with at fanatics, I wouldn't sweat it. Tunes can be improved and the AA SC isn't custom dyno tuned from what I recall so one size does not fit all.

Well, there is that issue with the blown motor on the S65 that AA just sort of swept under the rug and never responded to. I heard they left the guy with the failure out to dry and didn't take care of him. Just what I heard, don't know if it is true as AA won't comment on anything.

Well for one, that 323, he went to them to see about a re flash. He ended up being told he needed larger injectors/AFM/ and a new cam sensor. He waited, got a new cam sensor installed by them(took the entire day BTW). Couldn't even dyno the car, kept going into limp mode and the geniuses there couldn't even diagnose the issue.

Well needless to say, he left pissed and paid for the sensor. Finally I took a look at the car and the fault codes. He needed a new air mass meter. Thats all. He bought one, installed it. Car drove a lot better, but still didn't feel like the advertised 265WHP the kit should be making. We went to the locall 1/8 mile track, we raced one another. My 530i whooped him. So for sure we knew it wasn't 265whp. Finally, we took the car to PAW to dyno it. 193(or 183whp)WHP don't remember and an 18:1 air/fuel when it hit boost. I'm amazed this car didn't blow up. Lenny at PAW did some tuning and the 283WHP came about. Fixed, the car hauls a** now.

There's a few more cars that PAW dynoed with AA products and the results were sad....

Problem is they personally didn't tune thier S54's they hired a very smart & humble guy down here, stole his tunes and let him go. He was the only reason they hit 500HP on the S54. All thier tunes are copy paste. Rarely do they do custom tunes...and when they do. They seem to always fail at them.

I'm just not a fan of them anymore. Getting real deep into thier products, they're crap. What you pay for one header, they produce 50 more. Doesn't show high quality craftsmanship.

Who was the guy? That is kind of dirty to hire him and then dump him once you get your base maps.

    Who is their tuner?
Guy is named Lance and the maps weren't base. They were very very well done.

Now they have some arogant guy named Barry who is also very lost. He's more of a copy and paste kinda guy. Very secritive of what he does and which none of the end results are very impressive.

Well enough of the bashing. They're making money and more well known than I am. I can't argue. They're a buisness out to make $.

Simple buisness trick. Hire the smart guy, learn all you can from him. When you got what you want, hire a less knowledgeable person who you pay less and does what is told.

AA has money though so cutting corners like that does not make sense to me.

Who did their tuning back in the E36 turbo days?

Karl, when knew a thing or two. The DME's now adays are way to complex for the average old school tuner.

I heard that blown motor was taken care of and the owner chose not to post. Because when something bad happens it always turns into a bash fest. Rumors work both way as we each got different info but nothing solid.

Why not have USA hand made exhuasts that are worth the money they charge? Instead they are sent out to taiwan and made there. Ever wonder why thier headers resemble the ebay ones so much? And why their exhaust systems look so cheap?

Honestly, their exhaust systems look great to me. Their E92 M3 setup looks fantastic to me but I haven't seen it in person.

Look at what Drew did with his motor. Came right out and said so and so happened to avoid speculation. With the AA blown motor there is speculation and when it got out in the open they didn't address it.

You heard it was taken care of? From whom?

Oh no, you didn't just turn this thread into that -___- I suggest this thread not be even alive. It is what is is, people will learn with time. I don't want to be associated with any AA bashing anymore. I HATE bashing on people/places, but that was something that needed to come out.

I don't think you are bashing at all. If details needs to come out they need to come out. We just are really open with any and all information. I don't think you need to worry, feel free to speak your mind.
