I do not disagree when it comes to handling state secrets.

The Russians are tough though, a different mentality.

im as patriotic as they come but to be honest as much as a tragedy pearl harbor was they did a sneak attack on a military base, some would call that good strategy and thats why its always fascinating that depending on who writes a history book you can get a different perspective on a story, Now 9/11 was a cowardly despicable act because it was against civilians who were just going to work that morning, on a flip side i still cant decide how i feel about us dropping nukes on innocent Japanese civilians, i know there Emperor and there military were wrong but to intentionally attack women and children is wrong no matter what, collateral damage im ok with but in this case they were the targets. If the Iraqi army or if terrorist dropped a nuke in Chicago then L.A. unless we leave there country how do you think that act would be viewed??

The problem is that in WW2, Japan was prepared to fight to the last man, woman and child in order to throw us back into the sea. They refused to surrender after we were on their doorstep...it was either we launch a ground assault into Japan, and suffer close to another 2-3 million American lives lost, or nuke them. We chose to nuke them, and continue to do so until they surrendered...after 2 it was enough..

Shut your face you moron, wtf people has to do with politics ? Russian people suffered more from their own government for 100's of years. Chernobyl is in Ukraine btw not Russia, Soviet Union was not a country of Russians it was a union of different countries and ethnicities, asians, slavic, muslim middle eastern ethnicities, and Stalin was Georgian btw if you want to start there, I find it funny how in US it's so much discrimination and so much $#@! about Russians, in every movie Russians are bad , $#@! Russians didn't even make one movie about Americans and make them look bad, no one even knew about cold war and hid behind the desks in high schools. But government in Russia is horrible , $#@!ing pieces of $#@!, and people hate them even more, but it don't mean you can call people gutless turds.

Sorry to bring this back on topic, but there are atleast 50 nuclear physicists/scientists working in the fukushima plants and they are absorbing as much radiation in 1 hour as people get in their lifetime. Granted their wearing suits for protection, but it is the fact that they are still risking their lives incase anything were to happen.

We can make our points without the insults.

Chernobyl is in Ukraine but at the time of the accident was a part of the Soviet Union.

Russians got there ass handed to them by Hollywood, movies changed perception around the world. I remember visiting Communist controlled countries as a child and the lengths people would go to in order to get American movies which were "taboo" at the time.

People need to understand Pearl Harbor was not as sudden as the government makes it out to be. Yes, it did catch them by surprise but people forget the US and Japan were at odds over Japanese expansion in Asia. The US was using diplomatic pressure to enforce its will on Japan who refused. The US essentially offered up a take it or leave it deal to the Japanese. The Japanese response was Pearl Harbor.

So they are sending these robots into the damages plants to detect the radiation and apparently it is way too high for humans to come in contact with... great. Major problems they can't seem to get under control, oh, and the robots are US made in case anyone cares:

Pretty sad what happened in Japan. Japanese are great people with great customs. They have well discipline and good work ethics. It's sad to see a country that was years ahead of technology now be behind 20 years. It's definitely nothing to joke about and indeed very sad.

Hopefully they can do something, I mean what are the aftermath effects of all this? Will food or product that are shipped be contaminated?

    Well phrased..

It looks like wind currents will have to be taken into consideration in future residential choices..

So is there no way to fix this? What, the people of Japan are just going to have radiation rained on them until it's gone?

Well, they need to completely shut off the reactor cores before anything can be done. After that point, an isolated lead wall would be ideal but until then, no Click here to enlarge The doc's told the workers that if they don't stop, they will have heart problems very soon...most of them are already suffering from insomnia.
