Keep me updated on this Drew.

This time around maybe we can get detailed pics of the whole install. I think it would do Gintani a lot of good for people to see the quality of the parts, all of the parts.

Good point. You could also go Porsche GT3 or turbo. I mean really you could even go Z06. There are a lot of clowns with Vettes but it's not the same kind of obnoxious fool that seems to have taken over the BMW world.

It isn't the whole BMW world. It is just that the E9X 3 series demographic is kids who know how to use the internet so they are mostly on the forums. They are just really a bunch of annoying brats.. annoying to a level that is hard to quantify. It wasn't this bad with the E46 but not as many people were on forums then.

Bimmerforums isn't like bimmerpost for example with all the idiocy. Thing is, that board is living in a world where the E36 is what is hot.

I wish I could disagree with what you are saying, but it's very true to an extent.

Good luck, Drew. I really hope you get back in the car soon. I don't know how you guys do it; waiting months without your car. But ...

If I were in your shoes, and I'm not so I can't say for sure 100%, but I think I would want to wait to see what the final outcome of the research into what caused the bearing failure in the old motor is first. Just to be sure, ya know? I tell you, that other thread about your bearing failure was scary. I mean with Sticky talking about how '08 cars may have bad parts or something. I had an '02 M3 and I don't want to have to go through a bearing recall again. So, anyway, good luck again. Cheers.

I doubt he is going to get a motor with any of the older parts.

The S65 doesn't have anything on the level of the S54 bearing issues but I do see your concern.

It all started when BMW decided to put twin turbos in what use to be their entry level car. Kids that use to drive rice-rockets in the 90's and early 2000's. The same kids that use to rip on BMW for making "slow" cars. Now they had grown-up and had a little more spending money. They purchased (or in most cases leased) a N54 3-series and blessed the BMW forums with their little $#@! attitudes. There is a large amount of those kids that still would have never owned a BMW, if they had not put turbos in the 3-series. Sorry, end rant.
