It's sort of as they stated, to prevent hitting the limiter which if you do it enough or hard enough can bend a valve.

The N55 drops off too much to gain anything by revving it out but a higher limiter can actually give you a safety margin. Now with cams, heads, and some other improvements the higher redline may allow power gains.

It's available for the DCT, just no graphs from an N55 dct car yet. I expect we should be getting those soon!

You need to send your ECU in. It really isn't bad at all.

Pricing for the tune is listed here, there is currently a special for BB members so jump on it: http://www.bimmerboost.com/showthrea...ree-trial-tune

You don't need any additional changes for the DCT, it can handle up to 440 pound-feet.

This is not torque pre se but shifting settings i saw in another forum these needed to be changed once power\torque was increased. some kind of cluth slip even the bmw performance kit for the n55 remaps the dct as per install kit details.

Haven't seen any details on the N55 performance kit remapping the DCT differently as it isn't even officially out yet.

See no reason why any settings would need to be changed.

I knew it was coming (hence the front page post) just wasn't aware they were installing it already as I couldn't find anything official. If that is the price, great stuff, would you mind posting that in the N55 powerkit thread?

The DCT is rated for 440 pound-feet. Software can't do anything with the DCT other than change the fluid pressure, that's it. The components are physically rated for 440 pound-feet, you won't be anywhere near the limit.
