    F30 3-series will have a 12 year life cycle.

"With a planned 12-year lifecycle, the underpinnings of the new F30 3-series family will shift the 3-Series into new technology areas with a future-proofed platform ready for hybrids and electric power"

    Autocar.co.uk

Anyone has more info on this? Why such a long life cycle?

Perhaps they mean the underpinnings(chassis) will have a 12-year lifecycle?

That makes much more sense, I don't see them having the F30 generation go for 12 years.

    Probably like a mini-5 series.

id go with what sticky says... considering it follows the trend. 7 series, 5 series being a mini 7, and now 3 series being a mini 5
