It's true, no replacement for displacement.

Part of me really wants some giant American motor with boost.

Dont even need boost lol - take the LS7 and do agressive cams, heads, headers, full exhaust, intake, custom dynotune, etc... and your WAY ahead of 99% of cars out there.

I ran a supercharged LS3 and beat him (he was claiming around 700) with my N/A Z06 (over 600whp n/a)....
....It became apparent after running some heavily worked C6's that a non-Z06 takes alot more HP to beat a lesser-HP Z06

Oh I'm with you.. the Z06 with an aggressive cam and heads makes me tingle in funny places. I'm one of the weird people who would prefer the LS7 over the LS9.

But then there are boosted and built 427's... although they are straight line missiles.

Big power in a heavy car is a cool feeling in of itself. Have him join up...

Can't expect that from the M3 although it is impressive what the M3 can do with just a tiny motor and some boost.

Nothing better than a head to head run in the same conditions to show how it really is.
IIRC that 5.61 60-130 was done on a very cold night..cold as in the 30's... friend of mine got a hold of the file and we were able to figure out exactly where and when the car ran that time.... 60-130's are very misleading for sure.. My car traps about what a 2.5 does, yet im 1 sec behind their 60-130's but i still pull the same mph from 100-130...

60-130's are location and condition dependent, just like a strip. This just further reinforces it, something some people have had a hard time grasping.
