    Stock C6 Z06 vs. 997.2 PDK

Decent run, the Z got the hit, but lost some traction and the PDK caught up, would have been interesting to see a bit longer run.

how does that make sense?? chevy could have put a dct in the vette, what if i said the vette is only fast because it has all that displacement?!?!? cars have strengths and weakness but you can take a strength and say its not a part of the car

you didn't get my point , Turbo is a really fast car and PDK has a big part in that pace

i understand that a fast shifting tranny helps but you made it seem like its independent of the car, the 997 won cuz its faster in a 1/4 period

Very impressive! Always loved the B5 S4. A heads cam C6 Z06 has gone 6.9 and 7.06, 60-130, trap around 136+. Those 60-130's don't make a lot of sense to me, as they do not seem to correlate with the trap speed, and how fast those cars are.

As far as the tranny, it was a major factor in this race, but I also agree that's part of the deal, just like RWD vs. AWD, it is what it is. Better traction out of the box along with faster shifts on that Z06 and I think he may have edged him out. Either way there is no doubt that the PDK / DCT is a big factor now.

With the Vette getting a jump and the PDK reeling him in just goes to show what a big factor a dual clutch is.

Obviously if the vette had a DCT it would win but it doesn't have one, efficiency is part of the game and the PDK simply is more efficient when shifting.

    ^ Great video.

    The ZR-1 sounds way better.

The ZR-1 also traps higher, so from a roll it would win. The AWD is what helps the 911 turbo in that race. The PDK from a roll is a different story, would like to see that.

the trans had a huge difference in this outcome. You can see every time the Vette shifted the Porsche jumped and then the Vette locked again before before the next shift.

2 local LS7's in my area made 587whp and 604whp, both went 132-134mph.... one was on E85 the other was on 93oct...

Im mainly saying the average cam LS7 is in the low 130's trap.... I wouldn't say ALL of them trap 136+.... That puts them at the 650whp+ mark with just a cam??

Maybe those guys got some ninja weight removal lol

I never said every single Heads Cam C6 Z06 traps 136, but they are certainly capable. My main point was the Z06 that trapped 136, only went 6.9, 60-130.
