Active's tuning on the B58 will be piggyback based then I take it?

Anything new for the bench flash? I understand if you can not give out details about the flash, but is there a release date for this yet?

Nothing I can say at this point. But the good news, in general, is that it seems like this is being tackled by multiple different parties. The B58 will kick some ass soon.

Still no news... ugh. Wish the B58 would get going already.

Dimsport (used by many tuning companies) are working on B series DME flashing.

My understanding of the "fuel limitation" on the B58 is simply because the DME is not yet flashable and the fuel trims do not have the same range as previous DMEs. That would be a piggyback-only limitation, not a DME or physical limitation as such.

So you think the fueling limitation is something that can be raised by a tune like a jb4 or would it have to be an add on?

If it is what I think, it'll just need a DME flash which are not yet available for the B58.

A flash will definitely cure the B series fueling issue. It's either a trims limit as brad said which a scalar table will fix, or a mass fuel flow ceiling table, which again...easy to fix.

I'd bet that's the case. Their stuff tends to spread out. They basically just re-sell to tuners who all use the same thing.

The JB4 won't be able to change the fuel limitation. I think you mostly see meth injection supplementing fuel early on.

    @Juan@Big_Boost_turbo has a bench flash.

I think basically only bench flash options are there for now.

No bench flash for the B58 for now, we are making the effort to try to come with a bench flash in the near future.

We are tuning the N55 with bench flash but the B58 has not yet a bench flash option.

My bad. My misunderstanding on that.

So the B58 is just piggyback for now it seems.

Yes, but soon we will have the bench tuning solution for it.

Will this be an initial bench flash then subsequent flashes possible via OBD or does each revision need to be bench flashed? Do you have a DAMOS to get table definitions for the B58?

Each revision will probably need to be bench flashed for quite some time.

Exactly, we will need to bench flash it for each revision.
Good thing this DME is not underneath the intake manifold as the N55

LOL, there's still some tuners out in the states that have to Bench the N55 for each revision but those tuners are not touching BMW as much for that headache.

We have been trying to get a B58 customer in for quite some time, once we find one, we will be full steam ahead on flashing it. Just takes the right person.
