    Full Gintani Sport Catless Exhaust

    Whatsup guys,

So I've had my Meisterschaft GT2 system for quite a while now (installed it literally a couple days after I picked up my car) and absolutely love it. Only problem is, I'm searching for more power and cannot pair a catless x-pipe with this muffler and expect it to be civilized in any way shape or form (I purchased a gintani catless x-pipe, and after a few hours literally took it off because the sound was just ear piercing). I've been looking at a bunch of systems, and always find myself coming back to Gintani (love the sound of their full race, but I am looking for something a little more toned down).

I'm wondering what your experiences are with a Gintani sport exhaust with their catless x-pipe with 4 resonators (this is what I'm looking to replace my Meisterschaft with). For you guys that have this set-up or have heard it, how would you describe it? I saw a few videos on youtube, but the video quality on most of them are horrendous.

Right now, my car is loud, but its missing that "high-pitch" that you get with a catless xpipe. I'm hoping the gintani sport/catless xpipe is reasonable, yet comfortably loud (if that makes sense).

What do you guys think. Any help would be appreciated.

I've heard the setup in person. It is loud and has that slight "high ptich" hint you are looking for I think. It depends how much of that "high pitch" you want as I feel the Gintani setup leans to throatier and more aggressive side.

Where are you located? You may be able to hear one in person.

A good friend of mine has the full Gintani sport catless system with only two resonators.
The sound is epic with a deep growl on the lower revs and what can be described as a cathartic roar on the top end.

I definitely think it is a great choice and is definitely liveable

    I'm located in NYC.....
......when you guys mean LOUD, is it ANYWHERE near this:
because that is how my car used to sound, and honestly the drone from the inside was sickening

I'm hoping its civilized <5k and after that it becomes a little louder....

The race system is out of the question because I anticipate that being like my old set-up....
....is the sport THAT much quieter? How would you compare it to other set-ups?
    Thanks guys!

Honestly, yes. I'm not going to blow smoke up your butt so you get a Gintani exhaust, it is loud and aggressive but such a beautiful sound.

The sport is quieter and if the sound level is a concern (I understand where you are coming from) go with the sport.

I really want a setup that has valves where I can adjust how loud it is.

    Thanks for the quick response....
...when you mean "yes" I take it you are referring to the race, correct?

So its safe to say that the sport should make it way quieter right? I just dont want to buy it then spend a couple hours installing it only to remove it like I did the last time LOL...
    ....

I value your opinion higher than most because I assume youve been around the shop there alot and heard the exhausts... thanks again

How sensitive are you to noise? Best way to avoid that is to hear it yourself but that may not be possible. All I can say is my opinion based on your posts is you should go with the sport.

Honestly, not sensitive at all.....but I was SHOCKED (to say the least), when I installed the gintani x pipe with my meisterschaft system....It was so obtrusive I couldnt even hold a conversation in the car. It wasnt so much the loudness, but rather the EXTREME rasp/drone that couldnt be avoided anywhere in the RPM range.

Im hoping the Catless Sport will make the car like my Z06 - tameable under 4k, but after that it opens up to something nice

Well, the rasp is likely due to mixing and matching, you want to avoid that.

Depending on what you had done to your Z06 if you can live with an aggressive exhaust on a Z06 the sport will be fine.

^ I think it will be close but I still think the Gintani sport will be louder, but with a cleaner more muscular sound.

Is the drone only in 7th on the highway and livable? Or is it obtrusive and present through all the gears (with a raspy gear change at low RPM with the DCT)? Thanks for the response.

Drone by definition will be in any gear as long as you go through the rpm range at certain throttle angles. Gintani isn't horrible but any non stock exhaust that advertises no drone is full of $#@!. (ae) they all do it.

It's a natural resonance of the motor. Stock has it. All have it. All my m3s did it. E36/E46. It will be quieter then that gt2 even on stock x for sure.

    The Pros to Gintani:

    Best sized tips/cans IMO
    Best looking
Best power out of any Rear
    Clean muscular sound
    Medium sound volume
All the highest HP N/A cars run their rear sections.
