Not a bad choice. I bought a 50" S1 for my master bedroom in November of 09. I paid like $1400 for it back then.

    I have a 46" LG 1080p 600Hz LED wit 4 HDMI ports
    $900

    it's a great TV

    The thing with shopping for electronics is pretty much this;
$100 more gets you something better so spend a couple extra and get the best thing for the money

you'll be looking at it for the next few years

    600hz LED? Do you mean a 600hz plasma? LED = 60hz, 120hz, or 240hz....afaik...

I just bought the Panasonic P42G25 with wall mount.

Gonna order need for speed shift 2, this should be a good way to break the TV in.

Don't have it but interested in hearing how you like it. The game looks like a lot of fun but don't know if it has any depth.

I'm still loving my 6 year old plasma Click here to enlarge ...

I remember at the time, all the TV forum experts said they should "never be used for gaming" (screen burn), they lose color, and so on .. but mine is still as bright as it ever was, and I leave my game paused for sometimes hours at a time .. LOL. No permanent damage, ever... It still kicks ass over many similarly priced modern TVs.

I am not upgrading it until it stops working! I've had three top brand LCD computer monitors die in the time this thing has been chugging along.

I have a hard time with the 3D thing .. I've been to watch a few movies at the theater, and all I see is ghosting, frame lag, and nasty flashy colors (kind of like florescent pens).

I'm really picky about what I see, and I what I listen to .. Either the theaters around here suck, or 3D movies suck .. somethings gotta give !

3D is just a gimmick imo - I have it on my plasma - I've watched avatar (that came with it) and that's about it. I might get TRON soon...so we'll see...

I thought I was crazy preferring regular old 2d over 3d. I hate wearing the glasses and I feel all this 3D stuff is more of a gimmick. I like the picture quality better in 2D and prefer to watch in 2D.

I finally got my TV two weeks ago..40" Samsung LED TV..thing is thin as a razor.

Havent had time to put it up yet...a friend referred me to someone at PC Richards who was a sales manager, and I got the TV for $600 (retail was 1100), the top of the line surge protector for $70 (was 200) and the best wall mount for $80 (was 299).

I took the money I saved and got a 3 year warranty. In this house we keep TVs forever..I dont plan on buying another one til the technology warrants it...

wait till you watch a HD movie, hd channel, or blue ray etc... it looks like everything has been filmed with a different camera. The way people move is so smooth its like they are in your living room but better, honestly the tv is better picture quality than real life, it makes you see clearer than your eyes can see or process. I actually didnt like the tv at first, I felt like the reg tv shows i watched looked strange and corny. Takes time to get use to
