I can already make any two dimensional game three dimensional anyway with the right drugs.

    DFBIU, Pro Tools?

My brother uses Cubase 5 a lot, on PC of course. =P

Dude, that's awesome, because I enjoy both of those genres of synthetic music. I used to mess around on Fruity Loops a lot.

Really though, have you hosted any of your songs? I love listening to Dubstep in my car because the BMW Premium sound system is very nice compared to my home speakers and other vehicles.

When I listen to music in there, I feel like I'm swimming in soundwaves.....

Fruity loops is good to give you a taste of production. If you really want to get serious you will need at least Cubase or Logic. Only reason I use Pro Tools 8 and Reason 4 is because I've been using Reason 4 for years and I am very comfortable with it, I'm not in the mood to learn how to use a new DAW.

I use Pro Tools for live sampling, I have a good friend who plays the Tabla drums (for 17 years) and I record live drum samples from him.

Producing music is an adventure, especially electronic music since there are no 'lyrics' to carry the song. It's all mental, you have to feel what the listener wants to hear and the song has to be interesting. It is very hard to do, because people get bored quickly; which is why good drum n bass is hard to find.

I agree. I usually find out if I like a song or not within the first 30 seconds of listening. Most of my music does not have some's else's opinion being tossed at me constantly in vocal form, and if it does I usually don't take it seriously. Click here to enlarge

    Back on topic.

I went to the store and there were two prices on Xbox 360, one for 200 and one for 300.
The guy said the one for 300 was because it came with extra $#@!, like headset and stuff.

He said they come with 4 gig hard drives. I think thats big enough for me now, but if i get more games i will need a bigger HD. Anyway, what is the main difference between the 200 and 300 dollar system?

I also heard from a friend that if you hook up an external drive it wont let you save games and stuff on it? Only the internal drive is designed for that? I dont get it...

Anyway, all I want is to play xbox 360 Forza 3 on Live with other people and I dont want the more expensive $#@!.

My friend just bought Battlefield: Vietnam and saved it on his external flash drive plugged into the usb..... so I'm not sure what your friend means.

As far as the $200 vs $300 system I don't know, I'm not a big console gamer. You probably get the 16GB hard-drive and an extra controller/headset with the $300 kit.

Haha it's because I hate Console to PC ports and the general attitude/lack of knowledge that some of that crowd has. I grew up with Windows 95 and Red Alert by the REAL Westwood team. (Not this stupid EA wannabe bull$#@! that ruined the entire Command & Conquer series, just to name one)

Not to mention Microsoft's stupid decision to block any wheel that they don't endorse, and to charge more for the same hardware just because it is 360 compatible.

Forza 3 and Halo Reach are the only newer 2 games that I can't get on PC that I would want to play. I even had a Xbox360, but after two "Red Rings of Death" I just gave up on all that bull$#@!.

You can't even have dedicated servers or setup private matches on most games anymore. Because Bad Company is a console port, and because of EA dickheads, you can't even mod Bad Company 2 on PC without having their exclusive, secure unpacking software and development tools, which aren't for sale.

Hardcore sims are only on PC anyway, and I enjoy those the most.

Yeah I went the economical way for racing sims.

Built PC off of Newegg + Logitech G25 + custom wheel/seat mount made out of a plastic folding table, some metal straps and a generic gaming "race" seat.

After that get Richard Burns Rally, rFactor 2 (when it comes out), Live for Speed, NetKar Pro and subscribe to iRacing.

You will have almost all the best racing sims in the world.

Can a fanatec work with a PC?

All those other games you mentioned, if they are on PC; do they offer the same tuning that you can perform on cars in Forza 3?

No, none of them are "tuning" games like Forza 3. Click here to enlarge I hope Forza 4 comes out on PC!!!

Although, I have a Live for Speed hack that I can use to write custom engine files for off-line play. I can specify displacement, cylinder count, layout (H, I, V), max RPMS, turbo yes or no, peak boost if turbo, peak torque and torque curve. The program is called LFSTweak.

I have another friend who just lent me his Xbox 360 wheel. Its not that bad dude, has force feedback and paddle shifters. I thought it was going to be terrible but it really isnt, is the fanatec that much better?

HA, yes. I can't stand the Microsoft wheel. Doesn't it lag for you, slightly? And it barely turns, weak force feedback, no real shifter/clutch, but it IS cheap.

That converter works, check it out:

By the way, do NOT judge the wheel by that game, and that driver sucks, bad. He has the shifter in sequential mode as well, the G27 is 6-speed only, the G25 can do 6-speed or sequential.

^dude that guy sucks hard! terrible guy to demo the converter...which I am surprised I have just heard about. I sold my G25 over a year ago with Test Drive unlimited, pissed off that I couldn't use it with the 360 and not wanting to spend $300 on a ps3....

Ingenious solution they have come up with! I need to see this on fm3 though...to be really convinced.

p.s. I wish devs would make something like fm3 for the PC!!!

Could be that this prototype converter detects everything 1 degree left or right as full left or full right.
Sounds that way with the throttle anyways. Behaviour of the car looks like that as well. Don't judge the guy, it may just be a lousy prototype controller.
