    This error again , great

here is a picture of it , a few months ago when i tried to start my car this error came up and didn't move an inch.so i had to tow it to dealer to fix it, my car was modded ,ECU Flash , Intake , Race exhaust...
i thought maybe it's because of ECU flash so i turned it back to stock(just ECU).
i sold the car to someone close ,now today he phoned me and said he got the very same error but this time he can't start the car. I need your help
    thanks

I think its a cold-start issue. There was a re-call for the idlel-valve hose intake and the idle-vale actuator in 2009 for 2008 and 2009 M3's, that could fix this issue. With mine, it would only happen every 3 days or so, and only during the first cold start of the day. I'd shut the car back off for 10 sec, re-start and the message would be gone.

I never experienced it during acceleration, or anything, just cold-starts...

You really need to pull codes. That will point you in the right direction.

It happend for me when i tried to start it , no big deal but now it happens during driving and that's why i'm worried ,luckily this time it happened in low speed but in higher speed not sure what will happen.Do you think changing those valves will help?
    BTW it's a 2010 M3

yes , i did it when it happened for me , i used a BT scan and because i understood nothing from the codes i handled it to dealer , they said stock ECU will solve the problem , but it seems it didn't.

It likely is the idle-valve issue.

2010 M3... hmmm, shouldn't have the idle valve problem then.

Does the car shake at all or make noise?

If it isn't the idle valve then sounds like it may be an issue with one of the valves themselves from your description. Best bet is a trip to the dealer.

Sounds like classic idle control valve, but dealer will know for sure. A friend of mine had similar symptoms and dealer replaced the idle control valve under warranty.
