    Turner finishing up their M3's

Turner Motorsports is finishing up their prep for the upcoming seasons.

They compete in two series: Rolex and Continental Tire

For the Rolex GT series they have a new M3 bodied GT car that is just being completed. Last year this car ran with a M6 body on the riley technology tube frame chasis. The GT car has a completely new full M3 carbon fiber wide body. It is still running the S62 powerplant.

Thought about moving this but realized you had it in the right spot. The body is just an E9X.

With a tube frame chassis, what does it have in common with a street BMW though?

Basically nothing, that is how the rolex series is. They all use tube chassis's.

The other M3's in the video are their Continental Tire series cars. They are basically stock oem cars, with little mods. A fantastic series to watch, over 60 cars run at once.

That is the one I was thinking of, I have to get into that series.

    Does it get TV coverage?

Same series that Fall-Line Motorsports competes in. Every race airs on Speed Channel.

Fall-Line won the Grand Sport championship last year. Bimmerworld finished second in the Street Tuner championship.

Season starts on January 28th in Daytona, the Grand-Am 200. Same weekend as the 24 hours of Daytona. Usually Speed Channel airs the races the following weekend, at least that is what they did last year.

Bimmerboost should follow the season, but should have some sort of spoiler alert. They post all practice, qualifying times, race results on grand-am.com.

I can do a spoiler alert in threads, it is easy. The problem would be the front page updates.

Does BMW Motorsport pay attention or have an official presence in the Continental series or is it all independent teams?

There isnt a full factory BMW team. But Turner has some star drivers. Joey Hand who drives M3 GT2 in American Le Mans. Also Bill Auberlen, who has been a BMW factory driver since 1996. So I wouldn't doubt BMW gives them some sort of factory support.

Coverage of the series may definitely be warranted then.

Go on Friday. The Continental Tire race starts at 1:30pm, Grand-Am 200. That is the race to see, there was 81 cars in the race last year.

They let you walk around on pit road before the race, check out the cars.
