Some pix of the Aquamist HFS-3 install.

The control unit is located where the passenger airbag used to be. Plenty of space and easy access.

The pump relay, water level senser plug and fuse very accessable, but still hidde, cables threaded betwin the fender and strut tower.

Here you can see the cables coming out from behind the fender, leading throught the firewall.

I hid the 4mm nylon hose for the intake plenium nozzle/jet behind the fender also.

    The intake Nozzle in place.

I put the FAV very central in the car, in a cold location. The reason for the central positioning is that I will be shooting water/meth to both sides of the engine.

    Update:

Car is now fully functioning again, I had some initial blue smoke problems but found out that I had overfilled the oil (heavy overfill) so that was sorted with ease.

I also had some problems with the VANOS, it just did not want to turn on request, however after removing it and re-installing it worked like a charm. I have however bought a replacement unit and a full rebuild kit, I will rebuild it over time and throw it on the car once ready.

The Aquamist is also working, it might be placibo but the car feels a bit stronger with the water injection on. I might need to play a bit with the Air to Fuel ratio though..

    So new this time around:
    PPF CUT-Ring headgasket
Aquamist HSF-3 water/meth injection shooting about 400cc into the intake plenium and 2x180cc (one on each turbo) pre-turbo.

    some updates.

the Aquamist guage has been installed, on the left side of the steering wheel, replacing one of the aircon/fan ducts.

Also done some minor fixes, including changing the topmount bearing on the Intrax camber plate drivers side.

But there are some bigger updates comming up. The 5speed S5G 310Z ZF gearbox has started to sing.. which means that some bearings are giving up. I will therefore have to change the gearbox and. Most likely I will go for a S6G 420G Getrag box from the S50B32, which will require new shifter, crossmember and a modified driveshaft.

I will also use the opertunity to change the Clutch/flywheel combo, selling my 10lbs JB-Racing flywheel.

As a replacement I have bought the UUC Twin Disk setup Click here to enlarge with the organic disks.Click here to enlarge

Yeah with all the extra stuff needed (shifter, gear display, installation...) it's probably a 20k Euro job.

A decent Getrag 420G with all the modifications needed will be in the €1,000 area...
That box is rated 420nm but can obviously take more

Then I can buy the ZF 320Z (same as the 310Z in my car but with upgrades) for about € 300 and that is a direct fit.

Since I have lots of area under the curve, torque from low down and decent high end, I dont really need 6 ratios,, it would be nice ot have one ultra high gear for the autobahn though.

I could also buy a straight cut dogbox internals from VAC Motorsports, but the noise of a straight cut is just too much.. you cant really drive it without a helmet and/or ear protection. I have driven many racecars with straight cut gearboxes and the whine is VERY loud.

These are very fair prices for used E36 M3 gearboxes!

I would have gone with South Bend DXD over the UUC crap...

Have had a serious failure with the clutch i bought for my M50B25 turbo project, it was the main factor in the cancellation of the project...

They wouldn't warrant the clutch although it broke within 2 months of installing it, the center of the clutch disc broke off and the pressure plate exploded causing major damage to the clutch housing of my gearbox...

Not at all satisfied with UUC !

I wish you all the best and hope you will have a trouble free journey with your clutch... looking forward to see your car on the road again...

how much difference is there in the ratios of the G420 compared to the original ZF unit from your car ?

This clutch was the best option for me, came highly recommended from a friend in Austrailia who is very experienced. The ZF310 and the Getrag 420G have almost the same ratios, and then the Getrag has a 0.8 6th.Now I just need to decide on what ratio final drive to use Click here to enlarge
