    M62 Turbo in E30

    This is a single turbo M62 that is being swapped into an E30, absolutely ridiculous. Total work in progress but this is different, and beautiful to see:

    I am the owner and builder of this car.

    I was going start a thread after i got back in town but i decided to do a thread now while infront of a computer and wala,
    Sticky beat me to it.

    More about the car:
    Like the title says but the swap has been done since July. I am trying to find time to take it out for tuning. Mean time im
    trying to finish up some seats so i can actually sit and drive it. It has a Garret T66 carried over from my M30 that was in
    the car and tuning is through a Megasquirt 2/extra running wasted spark. The power is sent through an E39 m5 6 speed
    and 3.73 diff. It has a Precision 56mm wg and a RS BOV. Im only running 4.5 psi
    for now but as progress continues i will be turning it up.

    After a few dyno sessions and learning the engine, it will be broke down, sleeved and o-ringed with a few hardware upgrades and the boost will be turned up to 15 - 18psi or so.

    Who are you going to have tune it?

    Sleeved, o-ringed, and compression likely lowered with different pistons right? It will be a BEAST.

    Who did the manifold? No issues with spacing?

    Does it run well at 4.5 psi as it is right now? Could we get some vids maybe of it in action? Sorry for all the questions, just really interested in this and I want to make sure we have all the info up on this build.

    Man E30 has potential for anything ,an E30 with a jet engine isn't impossible

    I am going to shoot at tuning it. If not, more than likely i will bring it MaxPSI.

    Right now its stock. Since there is no real info on turbos on these motors i will play with it stock. Hope to get a dyno. then rebuild it to improve on it. Eventually i will get it sleeved and o-ringed.

    I built this car from top to bottom and spacing is very tight. The manifolds are bank mirrored and equal legth at 15 1/2" on all eight runners which made spacing even more difficult.

    I havent driven the car yet. Just a little back and forth a few feet.

    Im hoping its somewhat ground breaking as well. To either confirm or bust the aluminum block rumors. Kind of like when people were saying the S54 was a time bomb and now there making double the power on stock blocks. Thanks

    Epic. I have dreams to build a gnarly e30 with some kind of turbo monster engine.
    I'd like a s54 with hpf in it but I can't afford a hpf 2.5 twice lol. Most likely I'll go s52
