11.90s in a 8th gen civic all motor. This is got me thinking!!!!! Im picking up a dd e36 m3.

    http://www.k20a.org/forum/showthread.php?t=85182

Could i do a all motor n/a set-up on the us motor and get into the 11s?.... How hard would it be to make 300whp like this civic did? If not is it easy to make 300+whp with head work and pistons on a euro s50b32? I want to do a all motor set-up in a e36 and go 11s. also what does a stock e36 weight? And how hard to get it to 2700lbs?

You can hit 300 whp on the S50 but all motor work on BMW's is more expensive than Honda's.

I'm all for all motor setups but you are going to spend a lot to get over 300 whp. To get into 11's NA? You are going to spend a lot on top of that if using a Euro S50.

Honestly, I think that is lame. All that money and time to build a motor, FULLY built, and it runs barely 11.9 @ 114MPH in a 2700lbs car? Not to mention it won't run those times without a drag wheel/tire setup.

This engine would be better suited on the back of an Ariel Atom, or in the front of a Lotus Super 7.

The aftermarket engineering is cool. The car is lame.

    Easier to gut a 95 M3 and put a 315whp bolt on/tuned S54 in it. S54 used is probably cheaper then a bolted up S52/Euro S50.

its just putting it in and running the harness.

its very impressive what they did but like others have posted you could have boosted it for allot less money and had more power and faster times, so why do that....

I completely understand those guys. I owned an 8th gen civic for 2 years and I love the K20 engine. It's like a miniature S65. $#@!, look a the specs, its almost exactly half of an S65 LOL...
That specific engine is not cheap but 306 whp from an all motor high revver like that must be a blast to drive. Totally dig it!

Exactly... and the specific outputs they hit are insane and respectable. Why the BMW guys don't push the limits NA like the Honda guys do I have no idea.

Honestly, some of the best NA engineering is seen in the Honda scene.

exactly hp per Liter the M3 motors are very well built stock. stock a 2L k20 puts down 210. and the s50b32 or the s54 put down 330. they mod the k20 to 310whp so the s5xs should be able to do about 450whp n/a

That is what I always thought but no one does with the BMW motors for some reason.

Those honda guys really push head and camwork to the extreme, it's incredible. I would build one for fun if it didn't have to go in some FWD pile of crap.

Sticky as much as I'm pro german cars, A k20 eg FWD is one of the funnest cars ive driven. And thats saying alot. Ive driven a Twin turbo gallardo which is insane. Every M model Amg and s model. Zr1's z06s ford gts and GTRs and this is in the top ten.. Just because it is reliable as hell and you can beat the living hell out of them like a go cart.
