    Your math is a bit wrong. After removing the 1.2 correction factor, he would have 500.667whp, not 480.

    500.667 * 1.2 = 600.8.

    So, to get back to the original number, you divide 600.8 by 1.2.

    600.8 / 1.2 = 500.667.

    So it would be a ~500whp car on an uncorrected dyno dynamics. Probably a 530whp dynojet car. Is it a VT-600 kit, i forget? It's hard to find a DynoDynamics that isn't messed with as the low numbers won't "sell."

    ICS's dynojet has been said to be a little generous for whatever reasons. If you really want something third party you could try Pruven Performance's dynojet in Milford, CT. I always had "fair" numbers there.

    What's with these G-Power's blown engines? i'm curious because a friend of mine has a G-power unit and it doesn't make any troubles for him

    LOL at THEshops dyno.. they are VEry well known over on NASIOC.com for having SUPER inflated numbers!! if you put down 600whp on his dyno, id expect around ~530ishwhp on a dynojet.. as a matter of fact i believe someone on nasioc already did this test and tested his dyno back to back same day with the dynojeet down the road a bit and they read within 5hp of eachother on a 400whp car i believe.. lol.. Damn inflated dyno numbers.. I like shops that have low numbers then you go out and race someone that comes from a place like TheShop and claims 600whp, you claim 500whp(same cars), yet you pull the 600whp car..
    Dynos for real are just a tuning tool to see increase from base pull to end results and thats it. Doesnt matter how they read, its for tuning. But when people get on forums and start claiming all this BS people need to understand that all dynos read differently, even the same dyno can read differently on a diffeerent day, which is why when they have dyno contests they ALL do the contest on the same day, because humidity, air temp, density, etc all comes into play..
    People can claim what WHP they put down all they want but the true test is running the 1/4 and your trapspeed. trapspeeds dont lie, best way to see "how much power" you're really making.

    Absolutely correct, prefer to go by trap speed any time. Try telling this to ESS though...

    Like stimo said, a dyno is used for tuning and measuring gains. Load based dynos are way better than just the rollers that spin. The dyno that I have been tested on is load based dyno and measures your HP as if you were driving it on the street. People concentrate on how high their number is which pisses me off cause everyone just starts to sound like a supra guy walking around bragging about how much HP they make. People fail to see their gains overall, $#@! most shops I've been to barely lay older dyno graphs over the new ones to see where peak HP, TQ, and AFR's stand. I call for a movement where if people are gonna post up a dyno shee that you have to first post your baseline up.

    Gents, as i said before,i'd still be happy if my car puts down 200 HP as long as it serves its purpose for me and i wasn't saying that my car put down 600 WHP and i got the fastest M3 on the planet,its very simple that i ran it on DD and i will run it next week on Dyno jet just for an accurate HP.so every Gentleman keep a wise comment to himself please and Happy Holidays.

    There is some apprehension about ESS Dyno's in general but you aren't trying to have the most powerful car in the world just a solid reliable kit. Absolutely understand and it serves you well in that respect.
