    Famoso Results

    Hey guys,

Just got back in and settled in from today's trip to Famoso. Overall had a great time, and considering it was $250 to race and a 2-6hr drive for most was very surprised at the N54 turnout! I believe we had 7 N54s racing today and few more spectating. The weather was just so so, traction inconsistent, and Famoso is a pretty average to start with. So times were slower than we all wanted. There were a couple JB3 cars, a couple cars testing the JB4, a Dinan/JB+ combo, and a GIAC S3. Most everyone ran low 12s@115-117.

I had been planning on doing JB4 race map development today but forgot to load a few required DLLs on the laptop. So wasn't able to do much. Which was a bummer as I quickly found several bugs that needed fixing both on the way to and at the track.

On the JB4 front boost was limited to around 17psi on the firmware I had with me. After fighting traction and aborting run after run for awhile I started launching in 2nd gear and ran a few 11.8s@117-118. Overall not bad for the boost curve. But still not where I wanted to be. I happened to have an old JB3 sitting in the tool box so threw that on to see how the car would run at higher boost levels. Maxed it out at 20psi and managed 11.8@120 launching in 2nd, and a glory run of 11.60@119 with decent traction. I really wanted an 11.50 with the JB4 but without the programming software wasn't able to make it happen today. Definitely next time but until then the JB3 reins supreme. Click here to enlarge

Anyway the data collected was good and it was great hanging out with everyone. Can't wait until the next track day. Click here to enlarge

Eh, Could be better the car couldn't hook for $#@! even on the DR's we think the DR's we used just suck. I thought I saw a 129mph run also but it was mostly 124's driver said he wouldn't hook till 3rd which definitely hurt the runs. Click here to enlarge

At least the OE tuning / Gintani C63 did much better then expected running an 11.60@121.9 not bad for tune and exhaust the other C63 had every mod and couldn't beat the ET or trap and it had DR's! It was very surprising.

I think it's a ~17psi race map you select with the map switch? But Craig was having major clutch problems and sort of gimping it down the track most of the day. I hope he made it home! Click here to enlarge

I had some race gas and an M8 nozzle 70/30 mix, removed the passenger seat, and am basically fully modified. The other cars had varying degrees of mods but most were on meth including Craig. Some were on drag radials and some on street tires. Aside from Craig and I the rest were full weight.

Had a really good time with all you guys. It was great to finally be able to put faces to names. Testing the JB4 was great and it was putting down some consistent numbers,Considering it's still in beta. So very solid even in Beta form. Can't wait to see this thing will do when it's finalized....
Showed up at the track with too much 91 in the tank so decided to do a few runs and burn it off before I put in MS-109
My car ran 12.6-12.7(don't remember traps) on map 2 with 91/Meth.
After pouring in the race gas and struggling with traction, with a little help from supadave managed to get consistent 12.1-12.3 with a best trap of 116 On map6.
I'll post up slips later (I'm on family time updating on my iPhone).

We are so lucky to be able to test and tune our cars and have Terry on site!! Like always he still finds time to help all 7 of us at the track on top of working on his own stuff. Big thanks to Terry, oh Thanks again for letting me use you wheels and tires!
All the guys out there yesterday are super cool and very helpful. It was great hanging with all of you guys.

Congrats Terry. I had such a great time at the track. Thanks for the advice on how to launch. It was also very nice to meet you guys in person. I posted the video I shot and my times in another thread.

E92 M3 DCT with Gintani stg 2 at 7.5psi 91+meth I believe the Gintani exhaust also.

The C63 had a standard OE tuning flash and the Gintani protoype header back catless exhaust on the stock street tires and spare tire removed with mostly race gas. In the last 2 runs the carbon filters were removed.
