Lambo Hurucan vs 911 Turbo S

    - Dragtimes.com
"While we’re still waiting for the Lamborghini Huracan to hit the streets over here in the US, they are out and about elsewhere in the world. We came across some video of a brand new Lamborghini Huracan in Rosso Mars running heads up vs a Porsche 911 Turbo S PDK Cabriolet. The Huracan’s 5.2L V10 with 610 horsepower, 7 speed dual clutch transmission and 3,450 pound curb weight should put it pretty far ahead of the Porsche’s 3.8L Twin Turbocharged Flat 6 with 530 horsepower and a 7 speed PDK transmission and 3,600 curb weight. However, the races are very close with each car pulling ahead at different points in the race."

I imagine that the Hurucan is pretty green. I wonder if the outcome will change over time as the engine breaks in.

    Great video. Thanks.

I agree. I also seen somewhere that they claimed 1/4 mile stats of mid 10 second @ 135-136mph for Huracan, which I REALLY doubt that would be achievable. It should have destroyed that Turbo IMO but its still a nice car. Cant wait to see a TT one Click here to enlarge

    C&D got a 10.4 @ 135mph instrumented test. Impressively fast. And I agree - can't wait to see a TT Huracan.

Lamborghini Huracan vs. Porsche 991 Turbo S PDK from a roll

Here is a race we have been waiting to see. The camera car is a Porsche 911 Turbo S cabriolet. Certainly a fast car with its 550 horsepower 3.8 liter twin turbo flat-6 and PDK transmission. The car it is racing is the Lamborghini Huracan which at 3423 pounds is lighter than the 36XX pound 911 Turbo S. It also is rated at more horsepower with its naturally aspirated 5.2 liter V10 putting out 610 crank horsepower. Crank horsepower ratings do not mean as much as they used to so that is why we like to see real world comparisons.

This one is interesting as the cars are incredibly close with the Huracan pulling forward in the first run and the Turbo pulling slightly in the second run. Based on Road and Track's 10.9 @ 124 1/4 mile test figures for the 991 Turbo S coupe and the 10.4 @ 135 1/4 mile test figure Car and Driver got for the Huracan this should not be close at all. Based on the result something is up with these two test figures.

What is likely is that the Porsche test figure is too low of a representation and the Huracan figure is too of a representation. In practice, the cars are close enough that an extra passenger or late shift can make all the difference. Hey, you explain the race result.

Not sure where everyone's seeing that the Huracan is over-rated...instrumented tests have shown these to be insanely fast. Also..like someone else said, break-in is very important.

There's definitely something up with the Turbo S's magazine test numbers, still don't understand it. Still, both cars are fast as hell. Can't go wrong with either.

Look at vbox test at the end the times aren't as good prob due to grip but the trap speed is still 133MPH pretty crazy for bone stock. Im sure the cars get quicker after some break in as well

European tests aren't as fast as that 135 mile per hour US test. The cars are way closer than the numbers show.

This is true, I am wondering why there is a discrepancy. Although that video you linked below shows it to be very quick...getting about 2.9 to 100, 8.9 to 200, and about 22.3 to 300...that is pretty damn fast no matter what.

There is something not adding up. It seems its pretty fast on the vid that Sticky posted, yet it is still going head to head with a CONVERTIBLE turbo s. WTF? Maybe turbo is modded? or Huracan wasnt in Corsa mode?

It is what it is. Without data it's hard to know for certain but the Turbo S is definitely faster than the magazine times. I mean look at how it beats 458's.

Doing VBOX 0-300 of 27.6 seconds upwards according to real world reports on Huracan but the only videos I have seen seem to be doctored or not on a road

    FWIW a 991 Turbo S is about 30.7 seconds 0 - 300 kmh
