    I've looked around, I heard that piping is the main issue because there is an oil line or some kind of integral line in the way of using a 3 series or 1 series FMIC...I assume that with some knowledge and plenty of piping one could work around it, but I have no clue...haven't seen many 5er with FMICs...but if you find out or find one LMK! I'm also in the market for one..

    Thanks sticky for making this it's own thread...helix did get back to and offered to take a look and see what needs to be done.. But I can't get to Philly.. Something like that would have to happen.. A manufacturer and a person willing to let them scope out the work...

    Very interesting... how does this affect stock performance on the 535i? And, it seems very weird that the IC would be almost half the size in the larger car!!

    That is really weird...I might stop by the local shop and see if they think they are capable of rigging a 3 series FMIC to a 5 series...hmm...I dunno we'll have to see...I'll keep you guys informed.

    if you're going to be putting an FMIC that fits on the 3 series, you might as well pay for an aftermarket one. The stock one seems to be inneficient as it is when it comes to higher boost levels, so why not kill two birds with one stone?

    I haven't forgotten about this at all, I called the shop here a couple times and no one has called me back. Once I get the issue with my car resolved I'm taking my babeh in to see if I can get some answers for a FMIC for us...

    Korman Autoworks in Greensboro, NC. One of the lower level tech's said they should be able to do it when I talked to him, but the actual guy that does stuff like that (the boss) wasn't there when I called, so I left him about 3 messages in the last 2 weeks, and he hasn't called back. So as soon as I get my car back in working order, I'm going to swing by and see him face to face...

    It's working now! I got it back 2 days ago and drove a good deal both days. Reinstalled my JB4 today, put it on Map 2 and took it around the block (I make sure that I meet all requirements for Map 2 [93 octane]). Then I put it back on Map 1...now off to Las Vegas for a family trip, then when I get back I'll be getting my DP's ordered and installed. When the new CM tanks come out, I'll be ordering that and installing that. Click here to enlarge

    I have not given up either ,I found a local custom guy. He fabs some trick $#@! for older bmw's and he seems willing to take on this task.. We juss met yesterday he didn't call me back today so I'll follow up tomorrow ...my only concern is that there will be no testing b4 and after so realized gains if any will be hard to quantify.. But my hope is that if I get it built ,someone with more time on there hands, can get some testing done...

    Loving it, man! I feel like the car has a little more power in the lower RPM's and is definitely smoother. Oddly though, I feel like I'm feeling a little less power than with the JB3 at the higher end, but it's probably all in my head, or may have been because of the HPFP issues. I did a couple logs for Terry, but they were my first ones so I was hesitant to put them on here, but when I get home I'm definitely going to put some up before and after my new mods go in. I also need to figure out a way to get the USB cable into the car without having to wire it through the door...it's barely long enough to go around that way and be able to mess with the laptop while sitting in the driver's seat. Either way, lots of big things to come my way...btw any new news on the new CM meth kits? Dang, now that my DP's are decided I need to do research on Meth kits hahaha...never ending cycle...
