the guy who's car it is is on 1addicts in the thread on there, not sure if he's on here but i'd assume not.

apparently the one being built for his car should be installed and on the dyno within a week, week and a half.

Will be interesting to see how this comes together. I wonder if they are making provisions for port injection as well?

Injector bungs could easily be added on the runners, I'm sure they'll offer that option at some point if they don't already

Nice and all but I can't imagine much gains without a worked head. At least the bang for the buck will be low.

If you are going to this trouble design it with direct port meth up top and an extra fuel rail below. I guess it could be done with a sandwich plate but I bet people would pay handsomely for an all in one upgraded intake manifold.

Biggest issue with a proper tapered log style mani is going to be TB placement and getting the pipe up from how I see it.

On the companies facebook page they have openly stated they could easily add injector bosses and/or meth injection bungs.

I got quotes from the leading intake manifold fabricator in the racing world about a year ago. They actually were not too bad, but the market at time was so small (still is) it was not worth it to us to have them made. Maybe it will be eventually.

further down the FB page they say they can easily do so - port fuel or meth.

whether or not it's the most important thing for the N54 right now and whether or not it'll be good bang for buck.. it's cool someone's paying for it to be made so for those who want it, it's there Click here to enlarge

You would say so? On a maxed out Stage 2 setup on 93 octane? Hmm.

No one knows; it's all speculation until someone gets it on a dyno.

I just do not think the stock manifold is a bad enough design to pick up 30hp just going to a different manifold and changing nothing else.

I doubt any real whp will be gained by bolting on the manifold. Last I heard the stock intake manifold was very efficient on stock and hybrid turbo setups. Large singles may be a different story but who knows at this point.

Yeah... I don't think anything in that response instills confidence in the results of this plenum. Lots of things can be moved to accommodate a better manifold and not including injector bungs by default will hurt later. You will need to install the bungs in the runner with the custom transitions they used in the flange and will likely have pooling due to the same transition if they do. It is good someone is building one but it is really a waste of time in my opinion if you aren't planning on doing it properly.

yeah that's complete BS, there's plenty of room to work out optimal runner size, plenum shape/volume and TB placement to at least as good as you can get with the space available.

sorta makes me revise my expectation of 2.5-3k at least for price down to more like <$2k.

even if it shows solid dyno gains.. not worth the expense if they haven't properly engineered it.

It's been a long time since I read it, but didn't the IM design threat in the advanced section seem to think that 30+ HP was expected due to the 1st runner issue and the TB placement. Or was that in general if you had the space for a properly designed Intake Mani?

there's no reason you couldn't fit what was designed there, or close enough to it... as long as you didn't give a damn about fitting the OEM filter setup... or even most of the aftermarket options hah

the biggest gain you'll likely see from an intake manifold is more even distribution and easier tuning to keep the engine happy. Some power will obviously be had, but I doubt that will be the big advantage. Also, as far as the oil filter housing and charge pipe go, who cares if you have to use a remote mounted filter, a block off plate, and a different charge pipe?
