I have a zuchon.... its a cool dog. Its 8lbs, white, and is a mix between a bichon fres and shih tzu. I've grown up with Labs and wanted a big dog but my wife insisted on a small one so she won out. I love it though.

I live in a apartment that is on the 9th floor so we have "pee pads" we buy for her. They are scented which supposedly makes them want to go on them.

Basically you have to watch the dog a lot early on, you will notice when the dog stops playing or starts walking around that he has to go to the bathroom. You can tell by their body language. When that happens pick him up and take him out or put him on the pad so he knows where to "go". He will start to figure it out. Give him a treat when he does it right, tell him "NO" when he doesn't (but don't hit him, they don't understand and respond better to voice commands, I learned this at the puppy obedience school). He'll start figuring it out...hes a puppy, he will chew stuff, poop and pee places, but eventually get better. You really need to put time into teaching/training him.

You can also go to puppy obedience school. I did it...reluctantly . My wife made me. But it was good in the end.

There are a number of methods but take them out with in 20-30m of eating, preferably to the same area and wait for something to happen. Once they do their business immediately reward them(I use food and petting). I literally tell my rotti to go pee or poo outside and it does it almost on command(exactly which one I ask), granted I have been doing it for years. If it has accidents inside you might want to buy a training matt which is made to adsorb and be washed regularly. Dogs usually go to the bathroom in the same place inside. So you don't have to ruin your floor during the training process. If it start going in doors immediately run it outside and then reward when done. The main thing with training in general is be 100% consistent and you really have to put the time in at the beginning.

This is technically my first dog. I mean right now I'm out by the pool and he's just sleeping on the couch (it's in the shade obviously) enjoying the day. If he's like this forever this is no sweat!

The only prob is the potty training, that's it.

That's a good lookin pup. Call him what you want, living with him and enjoying each others company is important. I have a 11lb wiener dog named Jack that is a royal pain in my ass, but I love that dog and he is a good boy when he needs to be. So that's alright with me! Its a love hate relationship.

I wouldn't challenge my knowledge of history. No offense, but studying history was what I did in college. Well, that, and my girlfriend at the time.

The reason I went with Tank is because it's one syllable which makes it easy for them.

Considering he is an English Bulldog Rommel would be insulting to him if we really are using our sense of history here Click here to enlarge Sherman might work if the name wasn't based on an American Civil War general best known for burning Atlanta to the ground. Now Hawker, that's a British name. Montgomery, that's a British name. Hood, that's a British name.

Tank is a pain in the ass right now. Stubborn, won't listen, and thinks it's a great idea to pee as soon as he walks inside.

Took him inside earlier and the first thing he did was pee. Took him outside to show him where he should pee and he just stared blankly. Gave him a bunch of water and waited outside for two hours and he wouldn't pee. Took him inside again and the first he does, yep, pee. Damn it...

He's been tough today. Every single time as soon as he walks inside he pees. Put him outside after scolding him each time but he isn't getting it through his head yet.

Yeah he's fine. It turns out he barely swallowed any pellets. I got scared and rushed to the emergency room. $300 later the doctor says he would have been fine.
