N54 Fuel Injector Issue - Recall Coverage?

when I changed out my spark plugs two weeks ago I found that the Cylinder #1 injector is going bad (leaking, spray pattern issues) and I need to replace it.

I had the injector recall done about a year and half ago and the dealer stated only one injector had to be replaced (not sure which one) and they replaced it.

my question is, can I take the car back to the dealer to have them replace the Cylinder #1 fuel injector because its the older part number that should be replaced per the recall?

I have a few back up injectors, but I wanted to know if I could still get some coverage from the injector recall at this point.

No. Once the recall has been performed that's it. It's back to the owner for problems.

even though they've revised the injectors TWICE since the recall went out?

I think if you can show that the injector has been replaced previously, the dealer MAY cover it as a goodwill gesture. I have seen this before but it is very much dealer dependent. It might be worth giving them a call to discuss.

I spoke to them on Monday and they said they will talk to BMW NA about it. I'm expecting a big fat NO, but I had to try. I have a few back up injectors ready to go if that is the case.
