    BrenTuning 2006 M6 S85 V10 ECU/TCU tune only dyno results - + 40 wheel horsepower on 93 octane

Great gains here from vendor BrenTuning located in Charlton, Massachusetts. They were able to gain 40 horsepower at the wheels and 24 lb-ft of torque at the wheels with software only on an otherwise completely stock 2006 BMW E63 M6. The tuning changes include a flash to the ECU (engine control unit) as well as TCU (traction control unit) software changes for the SMG transmission. The result is smooth gains throughout the entire rev range.

This software can also be flashed at home using their handheld OBD-II flashing unit. They can of course also adjust the tune based on modifications such as headers, exhaust, race gas, etc.

    Solid work:

Why'd you discredit and what makes you a believer? Bren's been tuning my cars way before he was BrenTuning and my cars have always been looked at like I had more in the car than was stated.

Not sure what kinda dyno that is, but man i have never heard of a 40WHP gain on this motor tune only before.. But im use to dynojet.. Interested to hear more, what was tuned/changed/altered... I think a solid 25WHP gain dynojet is what i have been seeing from multiple tuners on this motor all things equal on a dyno ( IAT's, oil/coolant temps etc.)

theyre constantly showing higher gains not just whp readings , but in the n54 world i never saw a car leave there and go trap 121-123 as the hp would show.

Before he primarily used a dynapack which has the wheels off and bolts to the axels which I believe gives a slightly higher reading than a dynojet.

Now he primarily uses a brand new mustang dyno afaik. I'm sure Bren can chime in and confirm.

Mustang dyno's vary and can read high. You guys are absurd sometimes.

Check out how AWE-Tuning's Mustang dyno reads sometime guys. Nothing is set in stone. Nothing is perfect. The world is a messed up place.

This is a brand new Mustang 150SE calibrated by Mustang themselves. When using 3rd gear, the car will make 390-400whp which is directly listed in our file notes on the picture above. 4th gear or 5th gear pulls on this car makes significantly higher power. I can post those runs if you'd like. The delta is the same.

The most important part of BMW MSS65 ECU M5/M6 dyno testing is running it many run to adapt (we have found 6-7 with small cool downs in between), or resetting the old stock ecu adaptations prior to the tune file. Otherwise the car will be slow to hit new fueling and ignition targets. One run of each will not tell the whole story. We do 6-7 base, then 6-7 tuned. We were also able to modify fueling targets and tweak ignition based off dyno results to find an additional 5-7whp over our base file during this session. These are lengths most tuners do not go too.

If anyone has a low mileage, well maintained BMW E6x M5/M6 with recent service, I would love for someone to put our tune to the test before and after on a 3rd party dyno for a SIGNIFICANT discount (50%) with a full money back guarantee. (We have found alot of these cars are in the poor shape and need maintenance prior to tuning at the current age they are at.) Just follow our instructions, use a dyno shop with actual fans and all will be well.

    Hey guys,

Had a new E60 M5 in here recently in great shape, low miles and performed the same dyno tune service on it. Gains are remarkably similar to above. Only thing we were battling was 105-110 degree dyno room temps, so overall a touch lower on baseline and tuned numbers, however the delta remains the same. These motors are pretty sensitive to heat. As mentioned in the post above we are looking for 3rd party customers to dyno this before and after for any of non-believers. Please contact us at sales@brentuning.com.
