Tony dont take this personal because its not. but I dont see how this is any different than anything you have gone through with your twin kit. He is using the wrong material. you have used the wrong fabricator...twice. Yet the effort is being made by the two of you to do something to advance the platform. Even with all you know, ask yourself if you where at the beggining of your twins project, would you do anything differently? How he gets there at this point is on him, but the end result will benefit all.

well, not quite.. Tony used the wrong fabricator, yes, but no one said 'hey don't use them they will take too long!'... If he was told that, this situation would be the same

This situation is just that.. Like tony being told NOT to do something specifically, then doing it anyway.

no one is really going to benefit from this end result, and if they were, the benefit would be realized sooner if advice was taken.

People told me where they thought I should go? You guys are really stretching here, very very hard. We went with the first place, who is one of the most reputable companies in the VAG world, we were promised a lot, they did nothing. The second place also makes quality parts, for whatever reason they dropped the ball. Your comparison could not be more off base. If someone with actual fabrication experience, had told us to stay away from a certain shop we would of course heed warning. Hmmm, building a manifold out of 16G and two reputable shops underestimating the scope of the project, yeah that's pretty close. In other news, all stage 3 manifolds have been thrown away and are being made out of 16G. You guys are funny

Keep them coming, right or wrong you are going your thing to your car. I was in the exact same boat in 2002 when I had a base model 2.2L S-10. Decided I wanted to go turbo and everyone told me I was going about it all wrong. End of the story, I had a 1 off 2.2 turbo and it ran like a beast (of a 2.2) for 3 years no issues.

In the hobby of customization there are always better ways but thats how you learn, make tweaks, and do it again.

Just ordered the turbo, turbo blanket, wastegates, downpipe/dumptube materials, Mac solenoid, stubby filter, intercooler piping, flanges, v band assemblies, and some other pieces and parts. Everything should be here this week.

Decided on a ball bearing 6466 twin scroll 1.00 A/R.

Thanks to Trevor at Real Street. Excellent customer service and pricing.

Will you be offering the hotside components separately or a semi/full kit? Sorry if this has already been answered.

Glad you are moving on with this project and making headway. Please continue to post pictures!

I think everyone is trying to be constructive and wants you to succeed. Sometimes things don't come out so clear on a forum.

I would be open to the idea. I would have to get mine together and working, then work on the stronger manifold and get it up and running before I'd consider making/selling them.

Apologies if this was in the original post but what type of numbers are you shooting for? That's a big time setup, I wonder how it'll spool on the street.

600+whp. Between the ball-bearing and twin scroll options, I'm thinking it should spool nicely.

Whats the record for 93 + meth?

Thats cool. I'll probably just set my goal for ~600whp first and go from there.

Hey man, watch the views not the replies. All of us get nonsense in our build threads, every single turbo thread. Just check out your views and not the replies.

I applaud you for doing your own thing. Whether this mani works out or not, at least you'll have the practice in and be able to say you did it yourself. Pretty much record time as well! lol

This is a pretty self explanatory question. Hindsight is 20/20 of course we would do things differently knowing what we know now, but you take what you get and move forward. Which we are, as far as the first shop we used. They continue to be an awesome shop and have and continue to machine and make great things for us, fact was the owner just did not want to tackle the kit and the amount of time it took that information to get to us was not really acceptable.

I have two audis so im very familiar with the first shop. Listen I know you tried to give him advice. Let him learn from his experience. Some people have to learn from there mistakes. Some from the mistakes of others.

Couple of questions, what is this orange wired plug? From what I found on RealOEM its a heater? I'll be removing the rear intake tube, so can i just leave this unplugged or...?

Second, I'm gonna need new head studs. My head flanges are 3/8" thick so ill probably just need studs that are that much longer. Any suggestions?
