    INPA has some transmission accessibility:
    Select E90 (mine says v1.32)
    Transmission: I have three options:
    Gearbox / Automatic GS19
    Gearbox / Sequential SSG
    Gearbox / DXC VGSG

    I selected GS19 and was able to get into some menus. The first ones were informational and some others clearly showed status as well as the ability to set values. Somewhere I thought we could set shift values - maybe I dreamt that.
    I'll try to upload some screen shots.
    Not that I know what I'm doing either, but I found this lists the "Bosch GS19 Gearbox" (TCU) as a flashable component: http://www.evc.de/en/product/spiwizard/parts.asp

    This device also says it can read and write files but does that mean it gets around the need to have properly signed BINs? Probably not but figured I'd throw it in there.

    Folks, I just got some VERY promising information from someone reputable we all know that the TCU can be tuned in the 335is. HOWEVER, The TCU can not have been updated by any tool or by the dealer otherwise it will be bricked. More details once I make sure its okay to say any more.


    Its the first confirmation I received that the specific DCT we are interested in can be tuned. With the Dodson hard parts finished, combined with this tuning capability, I think the DCT swap has just became relevant.

    It says that it can modify the data area which I'm guessing is where the calibration data is stored. Also says it can calculate the checksum.

    It seems like an excellent solution! Someone should take the plunge and buy this. They can offer a bench flashing service for these computers.

    Next big hurdle would be determining which memory regions are which tables and how they interact. Might be tough if you can only flash on a bench considering the TCU is inside of the transmission.

    Well now, we know its not just the M3 software they can beat, but also the 335is. Assuming stock TCU software is retained. Did dodson say for real they were done and ready and what time frame? I know the horse is beaten dead on this.

    Software tuning is not provided by Dodson. They are making some hardware.

    We're looking at two weeks I think. It's just a matter of shipping.

    Nothing regarding the DCT will convert to the 6AT. The 6AT is a separate problem.

    Yeah, I don't believe there is any solution for 6AT, nor will there be in the near future. Swap to DCT and dodson hard parts is really a wet dream at this point. Imagine if they could hold 1k!!!!! WOW...

    Will there be a way to know if it has been updated? I had the dealer flash my DME from IJE0S to ILA0S but I don't think anything specific was done to the TCU.
