Right, that's the problem, our transmission has already received the type of upgrade that lvl10 does, which is why lvl10 is an almost useless upgrade. I know jzeeee is still working, but he's also only on stage 2 turbos, and lots of 6AT guys are, so there's no telling if just a stock rebuild would also still be working for him. But he's getting Vargas Stg 3, and Terry has his single on a lvl10, so we should be able to see how well they really hold up apart from a couple of the current failures we've seen that have not really been complete upgrades so I hear.

Well, one of the best upgrades on the market for the 6hp26 is from nizpro n AUS, and that's where my transmission build is coming from and will be offering upgrades soon. Exedy makes an upgraded clutch pack, and there are lots of Ford shops around that do the 6r60 and 6r80. nizpro teamed up with SCT for the flash tuning of the cars, but that's going through Ford ECU's, not BMW.

So many of these transmission threads have been started, this thread sounds like a one of mine from a few months ago before teaming up with nizpro.

The strength of the 6sp gears haven't been a problem yet, just the shifting correct? Just have liberty faceplate the stock 6sp gears. High rpm shifting for under $1500

Yeah right. You guys already complain about a little rattle from a single mass flywheel. How are you going to justify a harsh dogbox crunch! everytime you shift gears?

On my car so far the only few times it has slipped is when I let it shift or shift it wot at over 700whp.

Other than that the gears seem to hold up to red line.

It's very rare for it to simply let go. 95% of the issues are slip during the shift event. So "yes" to your question.

I'm leaning towards testing out the LVL10 VB first before doing anything more drastic from a build standpoint. Without TCU control a full build is an expensive roll of the dice. A VB, even if it's just shimmed for more line pressure, is a more palatable risk.

Of course, and I'm all for anyone contacting other companies, but I've tried, and basically no one cares to work on our transmission. The problem is the 6r80 may be a design straight off the 6hp26, butt he 6hp26 is completely different sized than the 6hp21, different baskets, number disks, etc. so basically wasting time hoping a shop that does 6r80 rebuilds will want to touch our transmission. I say go for it, but I can't imagine much has changed in the past few months since I was in this same spot. Also need to remember the dollar is worth a chunk more than the AUD (aussie dollar) and the currency value itself damn near makes up for the shipping. Just an FYI.

Good stuff, unless you could wait to see my option, I just don't see another option. DCT would be sick especially for you and roll racing, but no damn upgrade there either....

10%? for the guy going to really show if it performs well or not? ouch. still overpriced too.

can SPEC do a custom say 700-750 ft-lb twin disc?

do you have any pricing from them?

it'd be a dream haha. only clutchmasters offers a twin disc and i'm not too sure on their quality.. and OSG (via advan or whatever) never got around to making it i don't think.
