    shifting problem in my m6

well tonight at my local car meet i had a bad $#@!in night, i lost a $#@! load of races and pulls because shifting from 1st to 2nd is a real headache. I've misshifted so many times that i decided it was better just to shift slowly. its like the shifter gets "stuck" and won't engage into second. do i need a better transmission fluid? couple notes, i have the f10 shift knob and i can't turn off traction yet but that might be irrelavent.

this is really pissing me off.

My M6 had issues if I was trying to pull a long 1st gear with power down... I changed fluids etc but after a while there was no difference... I ended up just using 1st as a 0-12 mph gear or just starting in 2nd.

If changing down gears do you run through them sequentially 6-5-4-3-2-1 ?

I know of guys who go go say 5th to neutral, then brake and into 2nd which then chomps away at the teeth over time............

Hope this is not a chattered 2nd gear for you

i always downshift sequentially or i just put it in neutral and brake

when driving normally it's kind of annoying shifting 1-2 but not much of an issue. but last night i failed at least 6 or 7 powershifts, my shifter would not engage to 2nd i don't know why

I hear ya mate. Sometimes I would shift at any range just to get it out of 1st.. and rarely at max torque levels... may also be worth checking the clutch

Pull out SMG pump and tranny, drill hole into transfer case for shifter knob. Get 3 pedals and a new cluth slave cylinder. Make her manual!
