Is this primarily due to the higher RPM range in the M3's?

It's probably due to different ECU's.

We have extra coolers on our m3. I don't have any information about how many times takes gear shifting. If you have interest just install it.

@ncat10 Didn't you upload the file in the S65 section? I don't see it there. Click here to enlarge You'd be doing me a solid if you still have it. Also, DME 241 and maybe the Nav updates, too? Click here to enlarge LOL

I have been running this software in my car for the past 6 months have probably put 3000 hard track miles on the car with it and its an awesome upgrade! much more aggressive and the down blip is raw!

the gearbox will get hot after 30 min continuous track use and wont want to change gear very fast i am upgrading the cooling system this winter so will have more info if anyone is interested

anyone from the UK wanting this i can put you in touch with someone who can map this in for Peanuts

This is something that's been mentioned before. It depends on what speed the shifts are set at (if it's 90ms, like it is on the GTS, the issue you're seeing is far more likely to make an appearance). This is why many of the people who provide the software update push the shift time to 100ms.

I've now had mine for a few days, and I will agree that shifting has dramatically improved. It's well worth the investment over the stock software.

Just wanting to thank the OP for posting this. Did the flash earlier this week and can't believe how smooth the GTS trans flash is compared to the OEM. It's also mind boggling now knowing how easy it is to do and what some vendors charge to do it.

Tried the update and have a big issue.
I first tried to flash 7848442. The first update when to 100% in a few seconds. The second started but stopped after 2% and I got message "Transmission position P not available..." I can start the car but cannot put into gear.

I decided to revert back to stock DCT
7847868.
This time the second update got to 60% when it also stopped and now am seeing message "Some functions or selector lever display may be faulty..."

Again the car starts, but cannot select a gear.

I ran INPA and am seeing a lot of errors:

CD9D
CDB4

it's available directly in Winkfp.
However, it seems its only compatible with some non M3s.
It wasnt compatible with my E92 M3 and for now my TCU is bricked.

I wouldnt recommend this flash unless you really know what you are doing.

There is no need to upload it.
You can find it in WINKFP after downloading the DATEN file.
