It's all relative. These guys tout value but there are much better ways to go fast for cheap if that is your main criteria. Here's a hint: BMW's are not the best choice.

I'd just like to see more DIY spirit from N54 guys as I could fab this same turbo kit for 5x less lol.
Regardless you're right, 15k in a BMW for 750whp is damn impressive. Keep it up guys I wanna see 900hp with internals Click here to enlarge

60-130's vary by more than people think. If it was really running anywhere near a Veyron it would be trapping in the mid 140's. It isn't. Not even close.

True, but those aren't going to get you the overall package you get with a BMW. I love Mustangs and how easy it is to get power out of a Coyote V8, but it still isn't a BMW. I imagine you understand, because you could have easily had a Boss 302 plus $20K in the bank for what you paid for your M3.

this always puts things into perspective. Thats why i love my vbox because it is the best tool out there imo .... eliminates driver error for the most part, company to verify the runs, slops kinda play an issue but you can always find a 3% slope... by me everyings relatively flat my runs are done .9 downlope and with rbs 8.3 has been my best without much effort. 5.85 with a touch more power is fn insane.

gearing plays a big roll too screwing some otherwise faster cars into slower times just bc of shift points... AT n54 isnt great for this IMO... i shift right before 130 i think... if i could get through in 4th i would be a bit quicker

It never ceases to amaze he how the owner of a forum continues to bash the platform that is pretty much single handedly keeping his forum relevant. S65 a whopping 28K+ posts, N54 122k+. Honestly so sick of tired of every N54 thread getting turned into this bs. Sticky with all due respect, who cares about your car or whats its doing int he context of this thread? It has ZERO relevance. This is exactly why I unsubscribed from this thread yesterday. Also it looks like you have acknowledged an unproven WR by front paging it. If we are going to use conversion numbers I guess I go ahead and update my signature to an 8%-10% conversion factor and have them read 783-797WHP. Looks either us or Shiv owns the E9X WHP record. Woo Hoo!!!!!

I'm not bashing it. Why do you get me wrong? I'm being realistic in my assessment here. It's not me bashing anything to say a high VE motor that is larger, revs higher, and gains far more power with boost is a better power platform than a smaller inline-6 with an open deck block and inferior top end breathing. That's just the truth of the matter.

I didn't bring it up. Others did. I said focus on the N54 and then you started talking about how the N54 is soooo much better as did everyone else. That was you, not me. I said keep it on the N54 topic. Some people just can't avoid bringing me in.

I don't hate the N54. I just think I have a pretty good idea of what the best BMW motors built are.

Tony, this is not a prefect science. There are different dynos. It still is a development and if the N54 is the most popular forum on the network it makes it relevant by default, does it not?

I think I explain in the article that dyno's vary. I'm not in control of what dynamometers people use I can only do what I can to educate people of the fact numbers can vary significantly.

    wow man,

I don't know who you are.. but every time I read your posts claiming this or claiming that, my head really starts to hurt. It's like almost not even worth checking this thread any more, a tumor you are that needs to me removed.

Back to the lame dyno debate of so and so saying this and so and so saying that.. Let me ask you a few questions top dogs:

You're out in San Fransico right? Right, when you are RIGHT at sea level, when I am out here ABOVE sea level in the east cost, some other questions.. What was the temperature that day for those dyno runs, what was the humidity, correction factor? I mean.. $#@!.. if you really want to get complicated then lets get complicated.

I will try to find a closer Dyno Jet, just to prove you mother $#@!ers wrong, but at the same time.. I really don't care.. at the end of the day.. I was featured on some major sites, got a lot of props from everywhere.. except here. This is the only board where every one is having a pissing contest against each other.

Instead of just saying 'Congrats, but ill see you next week when I break your record', or 'Congrats, time to step my game up'. No, people have to complain about which type of TOOL i used to measure the hp, while all of you can sit here and argue w each other over the internet. Just know that I am out driving my 750+ WHP n54 335i, enjoying the piss out of it, not giving a $#@!, true street car.

Who said its a perfect science, but when articles have been posted showing very controlled tests with a 8%-10% increase in numbers by just swapping dyno's it would make sense to wait to get it on a DJ before crowning a new record holder right? I need to just get off the internet, I am on one this am. One of my guys just drove the end of a tow truck through the door of our office managers car, slightly perturbed.

I'm not sure how you didn't get props man. Everyone liked your post, not a single dislike. You made the front page and were congratulated. What else can we do?

I specified it is a new peak number record, which it is, and that the dyno used is different from the dynos used in the previous records. I think this is an important development, very relevant to the forum, and an interesting topic for discussion.

I understand you personally have an attachment due to your previous record on the platform but there is no reason you can't set more records. Going back and forth and pushing the limits is what this is about.

Some competitive juices are flowing, this is good.

    Bro here's a 7 second S38 with 1300+ hp. Good luck: http://www.germanboost.com/content.p...seconds&page=1

You can't beat the S38. You can't beat the S50's. You can't beat the S65. You can't beat the S85.

Are some of you just delusional?
The S38 has been around for 28 years. In 28 years I'm sure we will have some amazing N54's.

Of course. But the S38 is a 3.8 liter inline-6 that also revs higher. BMW also themselves made turbo variants decades ago that put out untold amounts of HP. It's just not a level playing field.

Just like every site, you have a bunch of members that give you one post providing their congratulations, but then you have a few other people that spam the whole thread up with BS. You got a lot of props man, we just don't post multiple times tell you it over and over again. $#@! the haters.

This happens every time. A new HP record that if it was run on a Dynojet would be around the previous records does not turn the N54 into a 2JZ.

Whatever, I'll do a pull against a single as @fastgti69 said he wanted to run. It won't be pretty.
