    2015 F80 M3 VBOX Times / 1/4 mile in 12.2@~119mph / 60-130mph in >10sec / 0-60mph = 4.2sec

Some VBOX numbers for the new S55 engine on the 2015 F80 M3....

Numbers were in about 81 degrees F heat...So could get slightly better with more ideal temps..

Kills the old S65 V8 in raw numbers standpoint...Hopefully this doesnt turn into another RPM, "Visceral feel", and S65 nut hugging thread...But either way lets DISCUSS!!

Nothing surprising. About inline with what was expected.

Oh and 81 degrees is not heat.

Saw indictions it may be a 3.9 / 12.0 at 122 type car... still not bad numbers out the gate

No way, it's not going to beat the M6.

Magazines test will probably get under 3.9 sec. I remember when Car and Driver got 3.9 sec 0-60 with the E92 M3 DCT.

The owner mentioned he didn't use the roll out. So its the raw figure.
The car keeps going well though because the exit speed on the 1km is pretty respectable.

So the magazine numbers will look much better. High 3s and maybe a 12 flat.

Agree 100%. BMW does not want to crush M5/M6 egos which are tied to a perceived superiority for the higher entry price. If you want to see this in action there is this website called M5board where the owners think their cars are better than everything.

I just hope the ECU isn't like cracking the human gynome. Would love to see this car as aftermarket friendly, but we all know that isn't going to be the case.

That's the funny part. People are all like 'oh the m3 will be so tuneable' but BMW goes out of their way to keep you from doing so. Meanwhile the C7 is making insane power.

I know, I feel like I was seeing the stingray everywhere a few months ago which made me lose a bit of interest, now I feel like I never see them. I guess people are keeping the miles off and GM's price increase did what it was suppose to and slowed down sales

It has got to be a sub 4 sec car when the mags get around to testing them.
