BMW to reveal a limited 30th anniversary ~600 horsepower edition of the F10 M5 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed
This is not official but it sure looks like it is coming. BMW will honor 30 years of the M5 with a special edition model. What will this model get? About 600 horsepower standard so a minor bump on the Competition Package. The only change to get this 'extra' output will likely be a different software file. That is what you can expect with the turbo era to simply pay more money for a different ECU file. It will also include the Competition Package as standard which means revised exhaust, suspension, and steering.
All 300 models will be Frozen Dark Silver Metallic. Expect badging denoting how 'special' the model is as well. It is also rumored to be DCT only which does not seem to be a good way to honor the 1984 M5 which came with a manual transmission along with every M5 that came after it including the F10 (in the USA at least). So some different software, wheels, badging, 'frozen' paint, and the Competition Package as standard.
Is this really all that special or unique? The M5 deserves better.

Other than the power bump I am a bit disappointed...was hoping they'd do something cooler than this. Should be interesting to see how much it costs. I can't honestly say I'm a fan of the color combo, not really exciting at all. You'd think it would be in something a bit more...M. Hell there aren't even that many original M5s in silver or with a black interior as far as I know. Certainly not here. And we got most of them I think.
